TV Fanatic talked to Ian Somerhalder about Damon's new path on The Vampire Diaries. How Damon will deal with the loss of Alaric, and being turned down by Elena are two big factors for for Damon's new outlook on life. Somerhalder says, "He's missing his best bro, but he's also telling those around him: 'I tried so hard to make you guys see my point of view. And now what's happened? Alaric is dead. Elena is dead.' Damon was right. And now he's saying: 'This is who I am. I tried to play nice and know what? It didn't work.'"
