TV Guide's Robyn Ross got the opportunity to speak with executive producer Julie Plec this weekend at the ATX Festival in Austin, TX. Of course, like the rest of us, she was curious to what storylines we may see when The Vampire Diaries returns for a fourth season this fall.
Now that Elena is going to become a vampire next season, her transition will affect everyone around her. Namely, Stefan. Apparently he will lean on Caroline during this difficult time, bringing them closer together. We saw seeds of this possible relationship back in season 2 when Stefan helped Caroline through her transition, and now she will return the favor.
Another thing Plec said we'd see is Bonnie's father. For those of you ready to burn Atlanta over this long awaited oversight, you can now put down your torch. Elena's human death will cause everyone to focus on their family. This is a good thing since most of the gang has lost at least one family member close to them, and bonding with those that are left behind may prove wise. They do live in Mystic Falls after all.
As I troll the Internet, the other thing I see fans very interested in is a less mopey Damon. Though Julie Plec didn't say Damon won't mope next season, she did tell Robyn Ross that he will continue to evolve as a character. What that means exactly, Plec isn't telling, but like you I'm hoping he's back to his bad boy shenanigans.
Plec also told Ross some more juicy tidbits. If you're interested in finding out more, click here.
