'The Vampire Diaries' Episode Clip (3x08) - "Ordinary People"

This Thursday, Alaric, Damon, and Elena investigate the cave drawings Mason showed Damon last week. What are the drawings, and what do they mean?  Watch the video below to find out! Thanks to @xLuvDamonx for the heads up! Tune in to the CW this Thursday for "Ordinary People," at 8PM.

IHTVD RECAP: Ghouls Have Unfinished Business in Mystic Falls by Danielle DuCre'

"Hurts, doesn't it."

Damon in chains. A little too much déjà vu for his liking. "Oh, you gotta be kidding me." He automatically blames Stefan, who is both amused and curious as to how Damon got himself into this pickle. Pulling the fire pick out of his chest and untangling his left arm, Stefan leaves the rest of the undoing for Damon to figure out. Mason Lockwood looks on.

When Stefan clears the room, Mason pulls the curtains open and the sun's rays blaze through the window. Unfortunately for Damon, his daylight-savings ring lay on the floor in front of him- just out of reach. Kaaarrrrmmaaaaa.

Turns out Bonnie's witchy voodoo really stirred up the grave. And, on this Night of Illumination, a celebration of "a bunch of historical lies," Mystic Falls is going to be hosting an array of supernatural entities, twice removed. "There's gonna be lots to eat."

According to The Official Brochure of the Other Side (which doesn't exactly exist), Vicki's witch was given a window when Bonnie sent Vicki back. Now, failed matter are showing up left and right! "I've had enough of the ghost stuff to last forever." (Oh, Matt Donovan is so plagued!)

"I'm a thousand times not OK with it."

Included in the ghost count is Anna. She's got Jeremy forgetting his loyalty to Bonnie. Seriously, Jer, the girl resurrected your life. Show a little respect! Bonnie's pretty dynamic, but how an she compete with a ghost?

Sitting at an outside table at The Grill, Anna advises Jeremy to not let Elena and Alaric know she's in their presence. But, when he leads her into the bathroom for a private conversation- one that doesn't involve him talking to thin air in public- he questions whether or not Anna is working with the witch on the other side. "Swear to me."

He believes her, but it's still not clear to him why they can, or should, still have a relationship when she's dead. "Send me away, Jeremy, it's that easy." He's not ready to. And on cue, Elena walks in to find them smooching away. Yah. Not only are the ghosts here, but they've now materialized. Elena doesn't hide her frustration from them, and Anna vanishes.

That's right, the veil over the failed matter is gone. Bonnie, in the death place of 100 dead powerful witches, has successfully performed a materialization spell which was revealed to her via grimoire.

Grams! Can't have a resurrection episode without the HWIC! Rebecca Sonnershine just wouldn't do that to me! Thank goodness a skilled witch is in Bonnie's corner. Lord only knows what else was going to come through those leylines if the witch on the other side powered through Bon's spell. The last scene Bonnie had with Grams, discovering her lifeless, was ultimately heartbreaking. Still, their family is caught in vampire mischief. Maybe it's just their lot. And, if this witch on the other side has unfinished business, it doesn't look like this with be the end of it.

Grams is here to help Bonnie set things in balance. I don't know how it must feel to know that the whole ghost catastrophe was essentially your fault. Aaaah, what one will do for love. "It's your duty to set it right...you need to close that door."

Caroline is also present, and while Bonnie and Grams discuss strategy, she touches base with Elena. Learning about the whole Jeremy/Anna scenario is one thing, but keeping it under wraps from Bonnie will be a miracle. Let's just hope when she does "accidentally" let it slip, she'll do it with tact.

They've also learned that Elena's necklace needs to be destroyed. It's what's giving access to these ghosts. Problem is, the person with the biggest motive to stay denies having it. Seems that Jeremy, believing his former girlfriend, won't continue to question it.

Mystic Falls is in for a rude awakening if they don't destroy that necklace, and fast. Frederick and his ghouls are back as well. "We've got some unfinished business with the Founding Families." Um, Sheriff, it's a V5...

"Oh, I miss you, too, friend."

Who better to teach Elena Detox 101 than Stefan's best friend, Lexi. After slamming his head into a car window, Lexi ties Stefan up and begins to show Elena the brutal, but necessary, process. "I'm saving your life."

Still at The Grill, Damon finds Alaric and tries to convince him to team up again for another Mason Lockwood Mission. "We're not friends. I don't like you anymore."

There's two reasons why I won't blame Alaric: 1) Damon killed him, albeit temporarily, during a tantrum, 2) Damon knows how to put on the charm and make you rethink your decision. Especially when his reason for the mission is standing there taking a shot.

Grams! Anna! Frederick! Lexi! Mason! "Told ya."

"I know you need to apologize."

Mason may have the answer to getting rid of Klaus. And he'll lead Damon to it, only if he gets an apology for being tortured and killed. Alaric chuckles; then realizes Mason's serious. Damon delivers a half-assed apology, but Mason, being the good guy that he is, accepts.

Despite the town festival, there's lots of underground action tonight. Bonnie and Grams are working on a spell to send the ghosts back, Elena and Lexi are attempting to drive the blood crave from Stefan, and now Damon and Mason are in the Lockwood cellar breaking through walls that reveal tunnels to the supposed Klaus remedy.

Mason questions Damon's skepticism. Could this really be a trap? "Thought crossed my mind." A fork in the road sends Damon to the left. Ouch! Damon skewers! Even if those stakes piercing Damon rendering him immobile weren't directly inflicted by Mason, he had to know that was coming.

Helping Damon out of yet another painful situation, Mason reveals that his mission here is not to spite the one who took his life. "I don't need revenge, Damon, I need redemption."

He then steps into a location of the cave that does not allow vampire access. What's there?

"I won't love a ghost for the rest of my life."

Elena is concerned about Jeremy's statement to continue his relationship with Anna. "I've always loved her." If there could be one "save" I'd want it to be Anna. She says she's here because she's all alone on the other side. Alas, loneliness may be her only option. She reveals that she does in fact have the necklace, and is willing to give it back.

It's not only that she's alone, it's that her unfinished business is being reunited with her mother. Still, she's willing to sacrifice her companionship for the greater good. "I'm not gonna let you be alone." How horrible! I would hate for her final episode to be a path back to loneliness.

Jeremy rushes the necklace over to Bonnie who begins closing the doorway, Grams by her side.

The festival is still crowded and the first sight of ghoul mischief is Tobias Fell strung to a tree. If that doesn't cause a sense of urgency, I don't know what will. Further, why is Elena walking around in the open! Take shelter descendant of Founders!

She finds her way back to Stefan and Lexi. Stefan tries to convince Elena that he's better, just free him. She doesn't buy it, and neither does Lexi. Lexi's been taking care of him for quite some time. "Now you're dead and you still have nothing better to do."

Lexi wants Stefan to recall the hope that Elena's necklace signified, but with the knowledge that Bonnie's destroying it, doesn't offer much hope for him to draw from. "Ironic then that it's going to be blown to pieces."

The dispersing.

Lexi feels a transition coming, she tells Elena not to give up on her best friend because he's still in there. Elena shows confidence, hopefully giving Lexi peace before she vanishes.

Mason, in awe of his discovery, vanishes before he reveals to Damon what he sees.

Caroline is doing a kick-ass job fending off Frederick and Friends from munching on Carol Lockwood- whose car is in the ditch. Then, they're gone.

Poor Anna is walking alone in the streets of Mystic Falls. Like a dream, Pearl comes into focus. It's her mother. She appears to have endured the same turmoil of withdrawal. But they're together, finally, and can go in peace.

The spell is now complete. Grams left Bonnie with a few encouraging words before she, too, departed. Poor Bonnie. The second goodbye wasn't any easier. Unfortunately, she can't turn to Jeremy for comfort. So, she sends him away.

Because Elena knows the ordeal Bonnie went through, as well as Jeremy, she wants to be there for them. She leaves Stefan, not exactly giving up on him, but letting him know that he needs to find his way back because she won't wait around forever.

So, what was in the tunnels of the Lockwood cellar, after all? Damon brings Alaric to check it out. Once in the vicinity, like Mason, he is in awe. It's...it's...hieroglyphs?

Four Common Misconceptions People Have of 'The Vampire Diaries'

If you are a fan of 'The Vampire Diaries', then you are constantly hearing comparisons of the show, and either 'TrueBlood,' or "Twilight." No White Noise lists four of the biggest misconceptions non-'TVD' fans make regarding the show, and delves into why they are wrong. Click here to read article.

2. “There’s no gore. True Blood rips out spines!”

You’re absolutely right, True Blood has ripped out a news anchor’s spine on television and it rips out hearts. TVD is just a silly, teen show that wouldn’t know what gore and horror is if they watched True Blood themselves!
Wrong.
Now, admittedly, TVD is on at 8pm and is a network television show that cannot get away with (legally) everything True Blood can, which is on HBO. HBO, people! I don’t think we’ll be seeing anyone’s spine on this show for… uh, oh yeah… ever. But we have gotten ripped out hearts plenty of times. In its first season finale (one of the best season finales of any show ever), The Vampire Diaries chopped off a man’s fingers in one clean swipe! But I think one of the creepiest ones was in the third season premiere, where Stefan had arranged the bodies of both his victims on their couch; Damon comes to investigate and one of the heads falls off and rolls down to the floor. So, yes, it’s gross enough.

WetPaint Interviews Sebastian Roche About Mikael, Klaus, and Vampires

In an exclusive interview, WetPaint speaks with actor Sebastian Roche about his stint on 'The Vampire Diaries.' Roche talks about his experience working on the hit show, Mikael, and 'Supernatural.' Click here to read the interview.

How did you like your stay in Atlanta?
It was a really lovely surprise. I had imagined Atlanta being sort of a very urban city with towers and being very concrete. But it’s actually a really nice city with different, lovely neighborhoods and very mixed towns. I discovered some wonderful restaurants and venues and people. I have to say the people are lovely. Hovering about at Piedmont Park and Virginia Highlands, I really enjoyed it very much. And the cast all hangs out together, being in Atlanta. They’re a small family. The cast and crew were amazing to me. It was a great experience.

Claire Holt Reveals Her Favorite Scary Movie

To prepare for Halloween, MTV's Hollywood Crush has been inviting some of Hollywood's young and talented CW stars to blog about their favorite scary movies. They began the week with three of the stars of the CW's newest hit, 'The Secret Circle,' and now have moved on to 'The Vampire Diaries.' First up, is actress Claire Holt (Rebekah). Click here to read the article.

My favorite scary movie would, without a doubt, be "The Silence of the Lambs." Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of the menacing Hannibal Lector is perhaps one of the most frightening and brilliant performances ever.

Are you ready for Ghost World?

TVD is sure to kick start Halloween with a bang with "Ghost World". But before we cozy up to the ghost of Mason Lockwood (yay, Tyler Kinney), let's refresh our senses with "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

Previously on...."I fixed him." Yikes, that can't be good for the tender loving, bunny eating Stefan Salvatore that we've been trained to love! But, if Elena hasn't given up on her boo, then neither should we. Right?

"I think you found a way to get out of bed this morning."

After a sleepless night, Elena powders the bite marks on her neck. How traumatic is that?! Pushing all insecurities aside, she follows Ric to the woods to get a lesson on vampire ass kicking. Well, survival at the least. Clearly she's too weak to fend off the likes of Klaus, or Stefan, but Alaric gives her a great pep talk that should definitely give her some grit. "That makes you the strongest person I know."

Senior year, anniversaries, and Twister...

Bonnie and Caroline are doing their best to push past the obstacles of the summer and new revelations in Mystic Falls, but Elena needs a little more convincing knowing that a year ago she met Stefan.

A year ago, Stefan silently stalked her in a kind, non-threatening way. Now, he's left his brooding behind and not only threatens Elena, but Alaric, too! What can I say, the poison'll do that to you.

It'll also lead you to leave blood drained Tri-Delts in your home after a game of Twister. "Would you like to spin?"

Mystic Falls students have it easy. The easiest! Not one student was confronted for the pranks that were left all over the school. In fact, they're rewarded with another year of no homework- so I suspect anyway. This school will probably suit Rebekah just fine. She's not here for a history lesson from Alaric, just focusing on the other Barbie vampire.

Meanwhile, Damon is consulting with Katherine while she tries to get Mikael, the vampire hunter, to wake up. He's still napping in chains, though.

And, Matt and Jeremy are still seeing ghosts. Vicki wants to come back and has a witch in some other dimension that is working with her to accomplish this. As Vicki and Matt are talking out in Stoner's Corner, Jeremy just walks past nonchalantly. Smooth. Points to Jeremy. Because he can see her, of course.

"Get a new boyfriend."

Running into Ripper Stefan was cause enough for Elena to take Alaric's advice and hit the gym. Damon joins her on request, and then some. Holding her close, Damon shows her how to find a vampire's heart. Then, looking deeply into her eyes, reminds her that he will always protect her.

I think Delena fans have the right to swoon here.

But, they need to get back on track. There's a bonfire after school-just like last year- and the crew needs to prepare! One problem. Not everyone's in. Tyler's been sired and won't stand in the way of Klaus's orders for Stefan. Caroline tries to reason with him, but Damon doesn't have time for that so he uses an approach that's much more immediate. Vervain.

Party time, Mystic Falls style. Elena is getting hammered. Her goal is to distract Stefan by being reckless, alluding that she cares-less about her life without him. Her actions are basically channeling Katherine. I think she's convincing herself, too, if only temporarily.

Stefan tries to call her out on the fact that she's staring at Rebekah and Damon with daggers. To prove no jealousy, she downs the rest of her drink and staggers off to the bleachers. Catching up to her, Stefan realizes that it's best she take a ride home from him. After all, it's Klaus's orders that the hybrid blood donor stay alive. Elena plays chicken over the edge of the bleachers, and loses her grip. Not to fear! Vampire speed, and a little will power/concern, prevented a rise in teen statistics. "I knew you'd catch me."

Alaric shoots vervain darts into Stefan's back and they haul his limp body off to the truck.

"Matt's trying to resurrect his dead sister, I think I'll deal with that."

Poor Matt is thinking that his life may start looking up if he can just bring back Vicki. According to the witch, Matt has to accept Vicki in order to complete the process. He does, and draws blood over a framed picture. It's done. Now, Vicki has to hold up her end of the deal. She failed to mention that Elena, the key to the hybrid race, must be killed. Obviously Matty protests which gets him knocked out. Once he wakes up, he calls Bonnie frantically apologizing for making deals with the other side.

Maybe Mystic Falls students don't have it that good after all. If it's not your boyfriend talking with his dead un-dead ex-girlfriend (whew!), it's your boyfriend's resurrected ex-girlfriend off to kill your best friend! Bonnie needs Jeremy to figure it out that he needs to make a choice between her or Anna, because right now, she needs to counter Vicki's existence. And before it's too late.

At first I thought: Wow. Coming back to the living must've took a lot out of Vicki if she needed a smoke! Then we see the gasoline trail to Alaric's truck. Non c'est bon. She wants to burn Elena to her death! She apologizes to Elena. Whatever, Judas.

Elena is able to get Stefan to snap out of his vervain haze just in time to avoid an explosion. Meanwhile, Bonnie is successful at reversing the resurrection spell. "I have to let you go." Matt has his closure, and then...Vicki's gone.

Over at the Lockwood mansion, Tyler is also coming out of a vervain haze. Caroline sits staring disapprovingly at him and his decision to revert back to the "old" Tyler, aka the jerk of Season One. I feel his apology is genuine, and for this he is rewarded. Twice actually. First with a little lovin' from Caroline, and secondly a dessert-human, hold the whip- from Rebekah.

"I can kill Klaus. And I will."

All day Katherine's been trying to awaken the vampire hunter. When you're in a slumber that long, I would imagine it would take some time.

Finally, he responds to her request about killing Klaus. Yes; it's possible to kill Klaus- regardless of being a hybrid, I assume, but he wants to be the one to do it. Katherine frees him from the binding chains and asks him what buffet he wants to hit. The park? The school bonfire?

"What do you eat?" His answer: the un-dead, like you, honey.

Duh, Katherine. Vampire hunter, remember? Even if you didn't think you were going to get munched on, I would presume you'd keep your distance and keep all exits in sight. Just in case.

Back at the Broodinghouse, Damon is assisting Elena with her burns. "You almost got barbequed, the least I could do is apply the first aid." Although hesitant towards TLC from Damon, she lets him take care of her. They have another moment, soon to be interrupted by Alaric much to Damon's dismay.

On the way out, Stefan tries to tell Elena she's weak for continuing to put her faith in him. She packs a mean punch for a weakling! She'll probably enter this tonight in her Diary of a Mad Doppelgänger. As for Bonnie, she's probably keeping to the grimoires. How To: Rid the Living World of My Boyfriend's Ex-s.

While she figures that out, Jeremy and Anna are discovering that they can have physical contact. Tomorrow's going to reveal a lot more in this triangle. I love Bonnie and wish she could find a decent boyfriend, but I'll also be sad to see Anna go if tomorrow is in fact her final breath.

SPOILER: What's in Stefan and Elena's Future?

Since it's Monday, E! Online posted their Spoiler Chat, and gave some insight into Stefan and Elena's Future. Khloe: So I used to be team damon on Vampire Diaries but I switched over to Stefan.... the last episode made me really want Stefan and Elena to kiss when he caught her! What's in their future?
Right now Stefan only has one person on his mind, and maybe in his heart. In a bromance kind of way, of course. We're talking about Klaus (Joseph Morgan). "At this point he's kind of like an ally," Paul Wesley tells us. "He's no longer forcing me to do anything. I've given up control and I'm okay with doing what he wants. I have no problem with it and I enjoy it." And even though we got a sweet little moment between Stefan and Elena (Nina Dobrev) last week, don't except those to come along too often. "He just entirely does not have any empathy," Wesley says. "He's a sociopath. He has no conscience, [and] it's going to get as bad as you can imagine. Right now he's gone. He's gone." Aww, bummer city and we're the mayors.

Michael Trevino Discusses Werewolves, Vampires, and Caroline Forbes

AOL TV visited 'The Vampire Diaries' set back in September, and interviewed the cast. One of the members they interviewed was Michael Trevino. Michael talked to them about werewolf transformations, relationships, and friendship. Click here to read interview.

What do you want to see for Tyler this season?
I'd like to see Tyler evolve into living day-to-day with this werewolf gene, with this curse. Every full moon that comes, you can't stop it. You can only hope to contain it and chain yourself up and not hurt anybody else. Season 2 was just about preparing for this upcoming transformation once the werewolf gene was activated, but now that he has it and has to live with it, I want to see maybe just the change in his personality and the way he lives. I'd like to see how he copes with it.

Paul Wesley: "It (crossover) will never happen."

Paul Wesley speaks on stage during Spike TV’s ‘Scream 2011’ at Universal Studios, Hollywood, on October 15, 2011

'The Vampire Diaries' Paul Wesley spoke to Access Hollywood while filming the 2011 Scream Awards. He gave his thoughts on a possible crossover between his show, and 'The Secret Circle," as well as his possible Halloween costume. Click here to read the full interview.

“I’ve never seen ‘The Secret Circle,’ so I’d have to see it first and see if it would make sense, before I could say that,” Paul admitted. “In all sincerity, I kind of feel like, if we’re going to do a crossover, it needs to be a character that was on ‘Vampire Diaries,’ who left and started his own show, in his own world, and we can then go visit that world. I think apart from that, it would be silly.”
