SPOILER: Elena and Alaric Go on A Sweaty, Rugged Adventure

Entertainment Weekly dished out some good spoilers today on many of our favorite shows. As for 'The Vampire Diaries,' EW had scoop on newest Original, Klaus, as well as some new Elena &... Alaric(?) scoop. After Comic-Con, Nina Dobrev gave some info about what we'll see during the second episode in season 3:

“Elena and Alaric go on a sweaty, rugged adventure together, and I have to cool off at one point. We get to bond a little bit, and filming scenes with Matt Davis is great, because he’s a really funny light-hearted guy and there’s a lot of comic relief.”

Damon & Elena Make Entertainment Weekly's List of 25 Great TV I Love You's

Not sure if EW listed them in order, but if they did, Damon and Elena's heartfelt scene in 'Rose' (2x08) came in 8th. Damon selfishly confessing his love to Elena, and then compelling her to forget is a scene that made many viewer's rewind their TiVos. Many spent the remainder of the season hoping that somehow Elena would remember his confession. Though that has yet to happen, the writers threw fans a bone when Damon confessed his feelings yet again, and Elena replied, "I know." She may or may not remember his initial confession, but even if she hasn't, his actions have revealed himself to her just the same.  Click here to watch  the clip that caused Damon & Elena to make EW's list, and go to Entertainment Weekly to see what other scenes made the list.

The SBH Gives Their Top 10 Items to Look Out For in Mystic Falls

The Salvatore Boarding House provides us future visitors to Mystic Falls of a list of items we should steer clear of while in town. They inform us that even everyday items like a pencil, or a mop can be detrimental to our health. My favorite item: chairs. We all use them. In fact, I'm sitting in one right now...*side eye*... Here's what they have to say on this nefarious household item.

7. Chairs. These damn things are like omnipresent local death traps, if you happen to be a vampire. Every time you turn around someone is busting up a chair and stabbing the nearest undead. The attacker doesn’t even have to be physically present! You might be thinking “oh, well, chairs are made of wood; it’s just a coincidence”. Oh yeah? What the hell kind of chair collapses into a pile of pre-sharpened stakes at the slightest hint of pressure?! A MYSTIC FALLS CHAIR, THAT’S WHAT KIND.

To see which items made their list, be sure to visit the SBH for a full rundown.

SPOILER: Will Bonnie Bennett Be Left in the Dark?

TV Guide answers the question of when, and how Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham) will react to finding out that Vicki, and Anna have returned to Mystic Falls. Highlight text below to reveal spoiler.

How will Bonnie react to the fact that two of Jeremy's ex-girlfriends are back in the picture on Vampire Diaries? —Leslie

ADAM: Your question assumes that Bonnie will find out about this spectral love square, which executive producer Julie Plec tells us may not be the case. "We're going to see Jeremy working very hard to keep the secret from Bonnie," she says. Our guess is that Anna and Vicki will still be sure to make their presence felt. The lesson here: Even if the other women are dead, it's always best to be a one-woman man.

TV Guide Talks to Julie Plec about Season 3 "We're going to tell their origin story."

The lovely Robyn Ross from TV Guide spoke with Executive Producer Julie Plec about what the fans can expect for season 3. She discusses The Original family, Daniel Gillies returning, Jeremy seeing dead people, and more. Read full article here.

You dubbed Season 3 "The Year of the Originals."
Plec: In the beginning, we'll catch nice glimpses in flashbacks of a time when Stefan was a true ripper. We'll get to see what that was like and how he got this reputation that Klaus has been holding on to because Klaus wants Stefan to be his wingman. Then, once we get into our second chapter in mid-fall-early winter, that's when we're really going to be digging deeply into the history of the original family and go all the way back in flashbacks to the year 1000 approximately. We're going to tell their origin story, see where and who Klaus comes from, why he is the way he is and why he so desperately needs some therapy or a hug.

Will Elijah (Daniel Gillies) be back?
Plec: Yes. I can't live in a world in which Daniel Gillies is not a part of it in some way. He can go book the next Bourne Identity for all I care, I'm still going to make him come back.

Julie Plec Talks with Hollywood Reporter About 'Vampire Diaries' Comic-Con Panel

Continuing their pre-Comic-Con coverage, the Hollywood Reporter spoke with 'Vampire Diaries' executive producer Julie Plec. Besides sharing her past Comic-Con experiences, and Nathan Fillion ('Castle') crush, Julie also talked about the show's panel plans. On the topic of what fans should expect for the third season, Julie says:

"We’re going to dig deep into the history of the original family and start to get a glimpse of the other members of the family that we’ve only just heard of. That’s a big part of, over the course of the season, understanding what makes Klaus tick, why he is the way he is and who’s responsible for making him that way. Our show is about family and all its dysfunctional glory, and Klaus is probably the most dysfunctional."

The Hollywood Reporter Talks with 'Vampire Diaries' EP Kevin Williamson

The Hollywood Reporter has been interviewing many of television's biggest names about their past San Diego Comic-Con experiences. Today, THR spoke with the executive producer of 'The Vampire Diaries,' Kevin Williamson. Besides talking about director John Carpenter, Comic-Con, and 'True Blood,' Williamson also spoke about 'TVD'. When asked about what he has learned from 'Vampire Diaries,' Williamson said:

"After watching eight years of 24,you can see what an adrenaline show can be like. I wanted to bring that adrenaline to a melodramatic horror soap opera. I didn’t want it to be slow and gothic and boring. I wanted it to be alive, and pulsating every step of the way, whether it’s through action, great emotion or epic love. I wanted to tell a big, huge epic story and I feel like the fans who watch it religiously understand that. "

Williamson also touched on how Twitter has helped him stay abreast of fan reaction to current story lines on the hit show.

"You can sort of see if people responded to something or didn’t respond to something. You’ll get a collective consensus. You can tell the difference between what a fan wants to happen versus whether they just liked it or not."

Steven R. McQueen Talks to New Zealand Herald- "It's been a blast!"

The New Zealand Herald sat down with Steven R. McQueen to interview the hot young star about his character Jeremy Gilbert on "The Vampire Diaries." When speaking about the popular show, Steven said, "I think teenagers are attracted to these tales of love, death and angst because they're going through some of the same things themselves, like experiencing love and heartbreak for the first time. The stakes just happen to be higher, because there are vampires running around."

Besides talking about the show, Steven also discussed what it has been like for him to grow up with such a famous name. He also talked about the various ways being named for his famous grandfather, Steve McQueen, has both helped, and hindered him.

"There's definitely a level of pressure because of it, but it's the name I was born with so I figured I may as well stick with it," he shrugs. "Anyway, I'm quite a competitive person, so it pushes me to not only live up to any expectations, but to climb out of the shadow and cut a path of my own."

10 Lessons Television Could Learn from 'The Vampire Diaries'

July 1, 2011

Yesterday, io9 released the top "10 Lessons Every Other TV Show Should Learn from Vampire Diaries." In the article, the list the reasons they feel make "TVD" a hit. Two of my favorite lessons were numbers 6 and 9. What are yours?

6) It's fun to watch people who do the wrong thing for the right reasons interact with people who do the right thing for the wrong reasons.

9) Sometimes when an ancient prophecy or curse sounds totally ridiculous... it is.

Malese Jow Discusses Anna's Resurrection, and More!

July 1, 2011

WetPaint nabbed an exclusive interview with "The Vampire Diaries'" Malese Jow to discuss Anna's resurrection. In an interview earlier this week, co-star Kayla Ewell (Vicki) gave her thoughts on why Vicki and Anna have returned. Now, it's Malese's turn! When asked her theory about Anna and Vicki's return to Mystic Falls, Malese replied,

"Oh, my gosh. I don’t know. I try not to think about it too much because usually I am very wrong. So, I’m just letting them handle the direction of the show, and I’m not going in with too many ideas of my own. But I do hope Anna continues to be a loving character. I hope that she’s not turned to the bad side. Because, you know, that’s what she was known for. She was strong, but yet she was strong and, you know, threatening for a reason. Like, she was doing it all for love."

To read more of Malese's thoughts on Anna, and season 3 of "The Vampire Diaries," go to WetPaint for the complete article.

Kayla Ewell's Exclusive WetPaint Interview

July 1, 2011

WetPaint caught up with Kayla Ewell to discuss what she believes may happen on the third season of the hit CW show, "The Vampire Diaries. In the season 2 finale, Ewell's character Vicki Donovan came back in the final moments of the show to "haunt" her ex, Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen). When asked whom she feels Jeremy should end up with (Bonnie, Vicki, or Anna) Ewell replies,

"Well, I’m obviously Team Vicki because I am Vicki. But I do think Jeremy has his work cut out for him because he has three lovely, beautiful ladies and each kind of gives him something different. It depends where they’re going to go with it and what Jeremy’s going to need."

With both Vicki, and Anna (Malese Jow) back in the picture there are abound to be a wrench thrown into the Jeremy/Bonnie relationship. Kayla tells WetPaint:

"Absolutely. Instead of a triangle there’s a love rectangle going on right now, and I think with Vicki, wherever she goes she stirs up trouble. I don’t even think she means to, she just does. I think Vicki and Jeremy really do love each other, and I think Jeremy really loves Bonnie too, so there’s bound to be some drama stirred up. There’s room in there for some major catfights, because if you throw in two vampires and a witch there’s bound to be trouble."

To read what else Kayla has to say, go to WetPaint for the entire article.
