I have a movie coming out [in February] called "The Roommate," and it is really cool. Then I have "Honey 2" coming out after that. Then there is "Vampire Diaries" and the CD, so I am keeping myself busy. I am hoping to do some traveling and meet more of my fans. I like to do a luncheon in the places I perform for those who aren't 21 and can't get into the club venues. I am trying to get an early flight to Connecticut so I can have one on Friday.
“The big important elements of this character are charisma and gravitas. You’ve got to be able to be afraid of this guy, whether you’re afraid of him because he looks scary or because he’s so charming that the fact that he can snap your neck with his pinky would take you by surprise. So whether he’s an Old Word-flavored guy or new hip, contemporary, speedy kinda guy, that remains to be seen. We’ll see what actor we connect to the most.” The character will make his appearance by season’s end, Plec says.
Scoff if you will, but for my money, no show on television has better pacing, plots or performances than The CW's "Vampire Diaries." There is never a dull moment in this mythological smorgasbord -- which achieves the near impossible task of seamlessly crafting a series that is at once a comedy, a thriller, a drama and a character piece.

“Season one was incredibly taxing on me because I got a little too almost method and it got a little bit intense for me as far as affecting my personal being,” says Wesley (though obviously not literally method considering his character’s proclivities). “I’ve made a very conscientious decision to try not to take home what I do at work, which I was not really capable of at first. But I realized, this is a marathon, not a sprint, so I’m preparing myself for the long run.”
Just so everyone knows- This event will include a screening of March 24's Vampire Diaries! So you won't miss the episode! I'm looking at a venue in Midtown (about 20 minutes from the hotel that a lot of fans will be staying at for EyeCon) this venue for the party is also near one of the venues that was used for shooting in season 2. That way fans will be able to visit a location featured on the show! It will be in walking distance of the party. The party will begin around 6:30 and end after Vampire Diaries airs. At that point we'd take a quick walk to the filming location for pictures, and then depart!
There will be lots of awesome Vampire Diaries door prizes. And I'm working on seeing if I talk to some featured extras from the series to come and mix and mingle with fans as well! But the main goal of our event is just so fans can meet and share their love for the series!

KLZ events is hosting Spain's first Vampire Diaries convention and Ian Somerhalder is the first confirmed guest to attend. The event will be held in Barcelona Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12, 2011. Tickets go on sale January 2, 2011. Follow them on Twitter and Facebook for updates. Post will be updated if others are confirmed. Thanks to Vampire-Diaries.net for the heads up!

None whatsoever. We started the casting process, we’re early in it. We have high standards, and high hopes. It's going to be very tough to not only hold their own against Ian and Paul, but also Daniel Gillies [Elijah], who a pretty tremendous actor. We’re taking the casting very seriously and it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.
NATALIE: An upcoming flashback to 1864 will give Elena a new perspective on her sibling suitors. Before then, though, expect a visit or two from the Grim Reaper. "A lot of people are dying," Katerina Graham tells us. "Not, like, too many, where it's like, 'Why are all these people dying?' But a couple of important characters are going to go."

“Coming out of it is what I filmed. When they turn, they transform into this beast, and the morning after, it’s discovering what happened last night. It’s kind of like blacking out when they turn. They’re not necessarily conscious of what they’re doing.” For the first time in her career, McManus is doing stunt work and she’s loving it. “Jules gets pretty physical, and I think people will be impressed with her skills,” she says. “[The show] is doing a lot more action. It’s something to tune in for.”

I don’t think there is a right or wrong guy. Caroline, her number one relationship is the one that she has with herself right now. She cares for both people, but for very different reasons. The writers have done such a great job because her relationship and friendship with Tyler is based on experience that Matt could never relate to. It creates a bond for them that there are no words to describe. Her relationship and friendship with Matt is based on her first love. That really takes a hold of your heart when you’re young. It’s like that old sweater that you always want to wear. But, at the same time, there’s things changing in her life that he won’t be able to relate to. She will never be able to be her full on, open self with him. Both of them were lacking what the other one has so there really is no right or wrong choice.
Early on in Season 1, the show featured a lot of Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) writing in their journals. Then, suddenly, they both stopped! Plec says that's because once the two found each other, they wouldn't need to their journals to turn to. "The power of a journal is when you're lost and alone and feel like you have no one to talk to," she says. "What we have fun with is how to integrate the concept of journals -- from Alaric typing in his computer or the old John Gilbert journals that set off the mythology of the vampire device. And we still haven't laid our hands on a Lockwood journal." Plec isn't ruling out a return to written thoughts either. "There might come a time when Elena has no one to talk to and needs to go back to that journal, but right now she's got lots of people to confide in," she says.
NATALIE: Yes! Elena's malevolent-hot birth mother will be back to share her wealth of vampire knowledge. Maybe. "Isobel has a lot of information and will continue to be useful for that information," executive producer Julie Plec tells us. "Where she is right now, what she's doing and whose side she's on — those questions start to get asked very soon." (She's also not the only birth parent returning to town.

Vampire Diaries has consistently brought fans amazing music each week thanks to Music Supervisor Chris Mollere. Our newly launched radio show has added a segment that means a lot to us. "TVD Music Mondays" will feature an artist/band from the show. We'll kick things off tonight with the awesome band, Sounds Under Radio. I think one of the most memorable scenes from season one was everyone at the Donovan house when Vicki's body was discovered. Their song, "All You Wanted" was the perfect musical backdrop. Tune in at 7pm CST to hear about their current projects, music on TVD, a cool giveaway, and more. Any questions for the band, give us a call at 619-789-1915.

I will tell you right now, the episode that we’re shooting now is me in the leather jacket, and I love it. [Laughs] In this episode we’re filming right now, the good part of that episode for Tyler is scenes with me and Paul Wesley. Stefan and Tyler talk about Caroline. I’m excited to shoot that because it’s just me and Paul and a different scenario. I haven’t really worked with Paul yet, and to have a nice scene with a lot of dialogue, and it’s just me and him, and it’s not about actions and stunts, it’s just about good acting with the awesome writing of Brian Young, who did this episode, I’m looking forward to that.

Tonight's the night we witness Tyler's first full moon transformation. Are you ready?"Why are you on some suicide mission."
The Grill is busy with patrons. Including Jenna and Alaric who are wrapping up their brunch. Jenna leaves because she's expecting a visitor at the house. A writer is visiting Mystic Falls researching small town Virginia, and Jenna's hosting a Historical Society event for him. As she leaves, Tyler enters to find Caroline. They will be heading to the cellar to prepare for tonight's full moon, but before they leave Tyler mentions Jules's visit. Caroline flashes a quick glance at Alaric who then calls Damon to share the news."You've been marked."

"Bonded by a code of loyalty."
Tyler and Caroline are in the cellar setting up. Tyler is doing his best to mimic his uncle's preparations. "Hey Tyler, how you doing?" He takes his shirt off which startles Caroline. He assures her that his pants are elastic- although they probably won't stay put- like the Hulk. Oh, he made a funny. Wrapping himself in chains and triple checking their reinforcement, he attempts to digest the wolfsbane. Choking and in agony trying to consume this he repeatedly tells Caroline to leave, but she won't. It's a horrible thing to witness, but she won't let her friend experience this alone."Still human."
Damon makes it back to the Broodinghouse safely. Curiously, he checks the house- yup, paranoia will do that to you. There are no werewolves present, only Rose. Last we saw her was in Richmond when she ran off at the sight of Elijah. Now, she has nowhere to go and apologizes to Damon for her disappearing act. She's cut short at the sound of glass breaking."There's nothing here for you, Rose."
Luka and Bonnie part, but the grin on his face as he arrives home is ever present. However, once he sees Dr. Evil it disappears. As Luka indirectly returns the moonstone to his dad it is revealed that the talisman was never altered. He lied to Bonnie. (Karma? Why didn't she keep the stone?) Now, Luka's only friend and love interest is non existent. His night isn't over yet. Elijah needs them to break the tombstone spell."Goodbye Katherine."
WP: Before the whole wolf thing, Tyler didn’t really rank on the Salvatore radar. But now he’s Damon’s enemy. What’s going to happen with that?
MT: I think with the information that they’re finding about how one werewolf bite can kill a vampire it is going to cause trouble. Damon’s not going to want any werewolves just casually roaming Mystic Falls. I think that he’s going to have a problem with that. He’s going to want to address it. How far and deep he goes into it, I don’t know. But he’s going to have to do something about it. And then maybe he’ll have to deal with what part Stefan has in getting involved in this new werewolf lineage thing in Mystic Falls.
"It was the coolest thing because it's something I've always wanted to do, and I could never do it. I never had the resources, I never had the ability. And that is now. It just doesn't get any better."
"I know I'm going to be naked in the shower. I'm naked in the shower in about an hour, and Damon's taking a bubble bath with candlelight and a glass of wine at the end of the episode."
Dobrev agrees that the introduction of Elijah and the concept of The Originals has been great for the show. “It’s gonna keep getting gorier and better and darker,” she says. “It adds a whole other layer. As difficult as it was for all the characters before, now they’re faced with an even more epic danger. Everyone is at risk.” But not Katherine, right? She won’t be getting a stake in the heart anytime soon, we hope. “I can’t imagine what the show was before Katherine came around,” Dobrev says.

Courtesy of DaylifeJH: Is Tyler finally going to go through ‘the change’ next week?JP: Tyler is going through his life change, yes. That is really the point of next week’s episode – to finally put him in that situation. It’s a full moon, we’ve been building to it, he’s been terrified of it [and] last night’s episode really showed what he’s in store for and just how awful it is in fact going to be. It’s a boy-becomes-a-man story for him and it’s not fun and it’s painful and he’s really going to go through hell.

“Tyler kind of goes into this knowing that when he turns, he’s likely to hurt people. So he wants to make sure that he’s held down because he’s not going to be able to control himself.”
“I was really put through the wringer [for this one],” he says. “And I think it’s going to turn out beautifully.”

"Well, I'm naked so I'm gonna go."
In a complimenting contrast- Stefan in white, Damon in black- the Salvatores head to the tomb on a mission to obtain the moonstone from Katherine. She's game for some company if they're willing to step into the tomb to get it, but Damon makes it clear that this is nowhere near an option. "I'd rather poke my eyes out." So, she makes them an offer: her freedom for the moonstone.
Taking a stroll through the woods, Tyler inquires about Caroline and Matt's relationship. Realizing her dilemma with the situation, he adds, "It's not really fair to be with someone and not really let them know who you are. I get it." He surely does. And he proves it to her by leading Caroline to the Lockwood cellar. While examining the bolts and chains, Caroline uncovers a journal. Tyler reads:"Unimaginable pain."
August 31It's Mason's journal. And, there's a computer chip inside. Rushing back to the Forbe's residence, they soon discover that Uncle Good Looking documented each transformation, including a video entry. It's good to see Taylor Kinney again, although the circumstances aren't so kind. The chip provides hours of footage of Mason's agonizing transformation. Tyler, understandably, is getting choked up watching his future. Again, he asks Caroline why she's helping him. They have a heart to heart about entering into the unknown and add another link to their growing friendship.
My body is changing...
We last saw Elena upset at the fact that all of her loved ones are preparing to risk their life to save hers. When the Broodinghouse is clear of her protectors, Elena finds Rose and gives her an ultimatum. If Rose introduces her to Slater, who will then get her into contact with Klaus, Elena will supply Rose with a day-walking ring. "You owe me." Hesitant at first, Rose agrees; and they set out so that Elena can make the ultimate sacrifice."The doppelgänger is alive and she's ready to surrender."
At the tomb, Operation Moonstone is underway. Damon didn't leave word as to where he was going, so Bonnie and Stefan begin on their own. Descending the stone steps, they notice that the moonstone is out-but, Jeremy is in. This fuel's Bonnie urge to summon the spell and she does so with the help of Luka, as she still carries his talisman. It was a spell that spared no energy from both her and Grams, and this is no different. Through Jeremy's protests, Bonnie continues though her body is breaking down. Unbeknownst to her, across town Luka is experiencing the same energies. Turning from Dr. Evil to a concerned father, Jonas Martin places his hands on Luka's temples and says a bond breaking spell. Bonnie and Luka blackout."Safe."
As Bonnie leaves through the backdoor of the Gilbert house, Elena and Damon arrive at the front. Damon reiterates the foolishness of Elena's actions as the audacity of her pulling such a stunt is unfathomable. "You shouldn't question why I would try to save all of you." The door opens and a roughed up Jeremy mutters the word that sends Damon and Elena flying to the tomb. "Stefan.""Of all the idiot plans, Stefan."
