According to PR Newswire, Simon Miller has been set to guest star on the "Memory Lane" episode of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. He plays George Lockwood, the patriarch in a long-line of werewolves in the town of Mystic Falls. Throughout season one, Tyler was a hot-tempered human. How excited are you to be a supernatural character?

There’s going to be more storylines, and it’ll show a different side of Tyler. Like you said, all of season one it showed how hot-headed he was, snapping at everybody. Not only that, but for me to be get into the supernatural element and find out the lineage of these werewolves and such, it’s gonna be, not a hard task, but something to look forward to. There wasn’t much of Tyler going on in season one, so they want to throw all of these projects at me now for the new season. I’m ready for it!

HarperCollins Children’s Books and Alloy Entertainment have announced that they will be releasing Stefan’s Diaries #1: Origins, the first in a planned trilogy of novels that will shed sunlight on the vampire brothers’ long, troubled history, including the Civil War-era romance that turned them against each other. The book is scheduled to hit bookstores in November.

Lets Unite Vampire Fans! Vampire Support's Online Auction is Now Taking Bids

As you know the Gulf Oil Spill is a disaster that will not be going away any time soon. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done. The fandom is very strong when we all come together as one, a lot of things can be put in motion and brought to reality. Vampire Support has teamed up with the National Wildlife Federation to do just that.

V: You mentioned [on the Bite On This podcast] not having favorites, but is there an episode you’re particularly proud of as far as how the entire vision of the music within the episode came together?

CM: Honestly, this is the first show that I can say I’m proud of every episode. It’s one of the first projects I’ve worked on and we’ve gone an entire season that I can say I am proud with everything that we’ve done with it – through the first season, and we’re gonna continue that through the second season. We hope. [laughs] I will do everything possible to do that. You know, honestly, right now? It’s hard for me to –

MICKEY: "In our world, our vampires know very little about the werewolf mythology, other than what anybody who's watched Wolfman or read books has learned," says executive producer Julie Plec. "They're going to be surprised at what they can do." Well, not everyone will be surprised. Katherine, it turns out, has a long history with the werewolves of Mystic Falls.

Courtney Ford Lands the Possibly Recurring Role of Vanessa in Season 2!

No more guess who! We finally know who will be the girl in the middle of Team Dalaric. Courtney Ford, who played Trinity's daughter on Dexter has been cast for the role, Vanessa. According to Ausiello, she'll be the smart, sweet grad student who helps Damon and Alaric with the their werewolf research. The season hasn't even started, but with all the casting news and video goodies with cast and executive producers, Kevin and Julie I'm having an anxiety attack before September 9th. Psst..I'm not disappointed at all. Rachel Bilson was my first choice, but Courtney is just as good. Thank goodness for great casting!

MTV Hollywood Crush Exclusive: Vampire Diaries 101 with The Cast

The excitement for Season 1 only gets stronger as these goodies continue to come out.

In the clip, the cast members list off the rules (and there are many) of being a legit "VD" vampire and explain that it varies across the board. In other words, you can't really apply what you learn about vampires in "Twilight" or "True Blood" to "Vampire Diaries."
