Vampire Diaries Season One Recap Extended Preview

Yes, like most people I'm disappointed that the CW didn't give us the goods that we've all been waiting for. There's nothing new in the vid below, but hey check it! Hopefully, we can get an official Season 2 teaser that was shown at this year's Comic-Con.

Elena Will Discover Why She Looks Like Katherine!

Via Hollywood Crush Make sure you follow them on Twitter

I think the fans would be disappointed if they didn't explain this mystery, so it's nice to know that Kevin and Julie will eventually reveal this to the Vampire Diaries audience. I personally like Steven's answer, "she's a clone."

Kevin Williamson Wants to Bring More Diversity to Vampire Diaries!

Kevin Williamson chats with SyFy about bringing more diversity to the Vampire Diaries, in particular a gay character. I'm looking forward to it, it'll be nice to see how they'll work that into the storyline.

"I always feel like I don't have enough diversity on my show, and that is one of the things I'm very conscientious of, and not just gay characters. Any diversity. In anything, I want everyone represented. I want everybody on the show."

It's not going to be the werewolf either. That would be so obvious. Tyler Lockwood is going to wolf out this year, but don't read any more into that. "I kept joking with Michael Trevino, going, 'Well, the werewolf's going to come out. He's going to come out of the closet.' And Michael Trevino said, 'Really? That's a tired allegory, I just want to point out.' And he's right. It is. So I go, 'No, we're not doing that.' The werewolf story is an allegory on its own for any coming-out story. It's a universal coming-out story."

TV Guide Comic-Con Photobooth with Nina, Ian, and Paul

Check out these awesome photos from TV Guide's Photobooth at Comic-Con 2010 that was held in San Diego, there's still so much news and buzz after their panel.

"He's my brother, he's my homie," Somerhalder said of Wesley. "We had a really good time in Europe partying our asses off. We're going to have to be on our best behavior during this new season because werewolves can kill vampires."

Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec Talk Theme Episodes, Were-Armadillos, Elena's Struggles, and More!!

Woah...so many good deets in this William Keck interview with Kevin and Julie. Check out the entire interview on their site.

TV Guide Magazine: Your first season included so many great theme episodes like the bloody Halloween party and the Miss Mystic Falls pageant. Can we expect more of these events?

Williamson: The CW is very event-oriented, but I was initially very resistant of it. Last season was all built around Founder's Day. And this year we're considering three events as our big lead-up to the season finale.

Plec: We do have a carnival in our second episode, and in the third episode, Elena and Damon and Alaric travel together to Duke University, where Isobel, Alaric's wife and Elena's birth mother, met and lived together. She studied the paranormal and was an expert in the anthropology department which is how she disguised her vampire research. She had become obsessed with Mystic Falls and dug deep into the history of the town. So on their trip, they dig into her dusty files to see what she may have known that they don't know.

TV Guide Magazine: And now it's looking as though True Blood is about to introduce werepanthers.

Williamson: Really? Well we'll introduce were-armadillos!

TV Guide Magazine: One thing Elena hasn't considered yet is her potentially having to sacrifice motherhood if she lives forever with a Salvatore vampire, because your vampires can't conceive, can they?

Plec: No they cannot.

Williamson: One of the things we'll see Elena deal with this year are mortality issues. She's dating a guy who's never going to get old and she's never going to be able to have children.

E!Online Talks to Kevin, Ian, Nina, and Paul About Katherine, Damon's Humanity and More!

Via E!Online WWK

Thanks so much to Kristin and Tierney for all the updates and TVD goodies! Make sure you click the links and follow on Twitter.

Ian Somerhalder:

How will it affect Damon and Stefan?

A tentative alliance. That's the thing. That's the interesting thought is that it might actually form, that alliance may have to get stronger because she's going to wreak havoc for both of them, whether Katherine wants Stefan or Damon, Stefan wants nothing to do with her, for the most part. Until he does. If he does.

Nina Dobrev:

What's up with Katherine coming back?
Last season I got to do it very little. I mostly played Elena and we teased to Katherine a little bit, but this year there's gonna be a lot more Katherine. She's back and she's wreaking havoc and she's up to no good. So it's gonna be fun to kind of step into Damon's shoes a little bit and play with them and mess with everyone's minds.

Paul Wesley:

Does it change his feelings for Elena?
Elena, Elena, Elena. He loves her. It's sort of a transformation. He's coming to terms with himself, season two is a lot more about acceptance. This is what I am. He's going to do other things. Laugh, be jovial.

Kevin Williamson:

What will we find out about Katherine?

There's so much to still know about 1864. What happened? Why wasn't she in the tomb? How did she escape? Where did she go? Why did she come to Mystic Falls to begin with? What brought her to Mystic Falls? And so there are all those fun questions that we're gonna explore and how the Lockwood curse figures into it.

Vampire Diaries Comic-Con Slideshow

There's so many photos out there from different events this weekend, so I felt a slideshow was best until tomorrow when I can make individual posts.

The lovely Jim Halterman who was in the press room gave the fans some up close and personal shots of the cast. He'll post some short video interviews with the cast on Futon Critic, so look for the post to be updated.

Vampire Diaries Panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2010 (Video)

Huge thanks to Dreadcentral for the video!

San Diego has been going crazy all week, but for us TVD fans Saturday in Ballroom 20 was the highlight. Unfortunately, we weren't in attendance for this event, but check out the following links that can give you all the goods. V-D.net, Hollywood Crush, Zap2It, Paul Wesley Fans, Jim Halterman.

The biggest surprise was an exclusive clip of the premiere. According to those who saw it, Stefan tells Katherine that he hates her. Bonnie and Katherine meet. Damon finds out again that she didn't really care in the first place. Hopefully, the CW won't have us dying to long. It would be nice to get a little TVD CPR before the week is over. *Note the video above fades to black of course, Dreadcentral wasn't allowed to stream it. I mean seriously, did you think otherwise?

Me and Sharie scheduled a Special Edition of TVD Chronicles so make sure you tune in!

Ausiello Casting Alert: Who Should Play Vanessa?

Via Ausiello

Question:
Vampire Diaries scoop, pretty please with a Smurf on top? —Randi

Ausiello: New-blood alert! The show is casting the potentially recurring role of Vanessa, a very attractive, smart, young grad student who assists Damon and Alaric with their werewolf research at Alaric’s alma mater, Duke University.

My pick for the role would be Rachel Bilson. The person cast has to be sassy, witty, and can hold their ground when dealing with Team Dalaric.

Who would you suggest play the role? Leave a comment.

After playing in the series, when you hear the word “blood”, what do you think?

Taylor Kinney Cast as Mason Lockwood

Thanks to Michael Ausiello, we now know who will play Uncle Lockwood.

Ex-Trauma EMT Taylor Kinney is joining the cast of Vampire Diaries in the recurring role of Mason Lockwood, younger brother of late Mayor Lockwood, sources confirm. Though he has more control than his nephew, he can “flip in an instant” if crossed. His first appearance will be in the season premiere, Sept 9th on the CW.

Do you think Vampire Diaries hit another casting jackpot? What role will he play in Tyler's life? Is he aware of the Lockwood past?

Katerina Graham Talks Season 2, Being "Sassy", and More with PopWrap

Photobucket

Via PopWrap

PW: What made you pick "Sassy" as your official debut?

I like to see what the fans like and what they’re gravitating towards – "Sassy" was on the blogs and I was pushing it independently -- I noticed it getting all this traction, so the fans decided – at least in my mind – "Sassy" would be the first single, or the first official song from me as an artist.

PW: And I would imagine her powers will only continue to grow?

Oh yea, she’s going to become even stronger. But it’s important she stay vulnerable too. You don’t want someone to raise hell with no motivation behind it. You can never forget the loss of a loved one and I don’t think she’ll ever get over losing her grams. That was her rock to this world. She wouldn’t do anything simply out of a hate for vampires. I don’t think she could ever justify that.

Thanks to PopWrap for giving us fans on Twitter the heads up on the interview!

The American Heart Association continues to remind us of the importance of keeping a healthy heart. And after all, doesn’t passion come from the heart?”

I just love all the things she's apart of, that's what life is all about. We should all get involved with a charity and make a difference.

Vampire Diaries Season 2 Twists : Is Uncle John Really Dead?

Via JSYK

We all know that Mason Lockwood is coming to Mystic Falls, but what still puzzles most is the fate of Uncle John Gilbert aka Elena's father. Here's what David Anders had to say:

"They haven't picked up [my] option yet," spills Dave Anders, who plays Elena's adoptive uncle/biological dad. "I feel like the character has a lot of legs and you can go in many different directions with him. But ultimately it's [executive producer] Kevin Williamson's choice."
Teasing about his possible return for season two, Dave throws in, "People don't always die from knife wounds."

Thanks bunches to the TVD news anchor, CW_VampDiaries. Make sure you follow for the latest Vampire Diaries goodies.

Fan Experience at Hub Productions Vampire Diaries Event!

As you know Hub Productions had their Vampire Diaries event on July 3rd and 4th. Dimity from Mystical Vampire Vixens had the wonderful opportunity of meeting the cast. She's shared some of her photos with IHVD. However, she apologizes about the quality. Here's a bit of what she experienced during the weekend. Make sure you follow on Twitter.

They are the most genuine, amazing and caring people that I have met! They are so totally for their fans that it gives a great feeling! Paul is fantastic, Nina is stunning!! Micheal is funny and Ian, well what can I say.......blew me away with the passion that he has!

I got to spend the Friday night with them at the Cocktail party, which was amazing as we had ten to a table (only four tables) and each guest spent about 20 minutes with each table before moving to the next table. To get to speak to them in such a personal way was something that will stay with me forever. The stories and laughs that we all had were great. Unfortunately, we were not able to take photos on the Friday night.
If you got a chance to experience the Hub Productions event, please share in the comments. We'd love to hear all about it. Also, BIG CONGRATS to the winners of the fanvid contest. I hope you enjoy all the goodies that Vampire-Diaries.net put together.
