The VRO had Executive Producer of "The Vampire Diaries" on 5/27. The radio program has dedicated the month of May to the TV show. The following is a tweetscript or makeshift transcript of the interview if you will. I tweeted things and typed in Word what I thought were of great interest to the fans. I did one for Marcos Siega and Paul Sommers, people really like them so I did one for Julie as well. I did have one for Marguerite MacIntyre, but didn't save it and Twitter totally deleted my tweets. So I do apologize for that. The following doesn't even do the epic interview justice. Also, some things are not direct quotes, but more of a summary. The answers got really extensive. Does the love triangle doom any other possible relationships in the show?

"No it doesn't, even the love triangle is more like a square, because naughty Katherine is back. They're going to try and integrate the other relationships this season. That way they won't just be popping in on Caroline and Matt."

When you were casting Elena, why didn't you want her to be like the books?

"When Kevin and I decided to do the show we thought, you can't dramatize this girl the way she is in the books. Elena is the heart and soul, center heroine of the show. She’s torn between the soulful one and the devil one and you can lose your audience with a girl like in the books. Nina has these big beautiful brown eyes and just let emotions pour out of her."

"Stefan and Elena didn't have anyone to talk too. Elena was spiritually alone and so the journal was a way of expression, but the minute they fell in love is why they don't need to write anything down just because they're in love."

"They still try to keep the journaling alive with the mythology. Journals were the record keeper. Who knows, maybe Katherine has a journal?"

Will Damon and Alaric be the dynamic duo in season 2?

"Alaric has every reason to hate Damon." We love writing scenes for them. They really like them as a couple. We’ll see a lot more of them.

Will we see more of the fog and crow?

The fog we might not see again and it's hard for a crow to gawk on cue.

"Damon is the greatest villain, he's a hero in villains clothing." Ian said at the wrap party, "I hated doing that in the end. That’s so hard for me to dig down that deep and be vulnerable and open to express myself. It’s not my comfort zone." Julie continued and said, "he’s a leader and a champion. He loves his persona as the cool guy. It was good because you believed it."

Mike Trevino didn't have much to do in season 1, all of the cast are so afraid, because we told them that if you party too much you can die, the cast would be scared to call and ask questions. Tyler Lockwood is crucial to the storyline mythology. "They would delicately layer it in just to get the audience aware of what his destiny is and who he's going to be. Season 2 is going to be big time. Mrs. Lockwood has to be the interim mayor." Tyler didn't have anyone and Matt isn't going to be aware of anything anytime soon.So him and Jeremy depending on what happens can develop a friendship.

If you were a vampire who would you turn?

"She would turn Kevin for eternity, so he'd be stuck with her."

Why does Stefan lie to Elena all the time?

"Every time Stefan has withheld something from Elena, it's always been to protect her. It comes from the right place. In the writers room after "Bloodlines" they sort of initiated the no lie policy. They said it was the addict behavior. It’s the disease talking. If he does lie to her it will be a big freaking deal!"

Is Damon in a permanent change?

"Stefan’s dark side and Damon’s good side will always haunt him."

How could Damon have not known that it was Katherine he was kissing?

"It's definitely going to be addressed, but because they have blood pumping. They are more humanistic not like a dead body walking. It’s for simplicity not get over the top and break out of the traditional. So they can't necessarily sense each other."

Anna coming back?

"Anna is no longer apart of Vampire Diaries. The crew made save Anna t-shirts and wore them on set. Malese Jow was actually supposed to be gone after episode 13. They loved the mother daughter and Jeremy relationships. They brought them back and gave them the rest of the season. She existed to give Jeremy his journey, but who knows we might see 1983 with Anna and Katherine in Chicago!"

"All the cast are so talented..maybe it'll be ways to weave in their talent."

"Music is picked after..she's a big fan of music being that extra layer of dialogue. It takes your story to a new level. Soundtrack in October!! Moment songs that hit so hard, she wants to make sure they're on the album."

"The Vampire Diaries was a possible feature at first."

"There is a possibility of Meredith being on the show!"

The werewolf and vampire relationship will be complicated. They don't want to be Twilight. It's tough because you don't want to be similar.

"Stefan and Matt's friendship are ultimately going to be true blues down the road but they don't want to force it. It was a big part of the books."

"They do a lot of making shit up in the moment!"

Although DayLife, is always good with being on top of photos of my favorite lovelies from The Vampire Diaries, they got the caption to the photo of Nina and Ian all wrong. Twitter was in a little fandom uproar if you will. They described Ian as the "unidentified friend". Ok lets just pause and take it all in. We know that Ian Somerhalder is Boone aka Damon aka hotness, so it's all good in my book. However, a little email or two may be necessary to clear things up. The always cool Zac Efron even made a lovely appearance. It's just way too much hotness for me to even look at. Enjoy!

He's trying to live up to the great writing that Kevin and Julie do.

They have the equivalent of 6 stages at Warner Bros..the sets are enormous!

He loves shooting in Covington, people are friendly, photographs well, great vibe, and much easier to shoot there. It's not run of the mill television, they created a tomb, they created a complete world from environment complex mythology, and mood. He feels like Epic was achieved this season.

The best thing about television is that you go to work every single day, no time for reflection. There's no time to second guess yourself.

It's a challenge to find a fresh perspective every single week.

He likes shooting the flashbacks bec they don't do it as often, so it's spice. It's great to learn what's going on.

As long as they keep the culture of respecting and being grateful to people who like what they do.They can continue to have fans come around, If someone wants to watch something we're working on is amazing!

He turned down two pilots, nothing in the works right now.

He starts prepping the 28th or 29th of June for season 2.

Vampire Diaries Cast Signing in London on June 3, 2010!

The cast of the TV show The Vampire Diaries will be at HMV 150 Oxford Street, London on Thursday 3rd June at 6.30pm.

Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder will be signing autographs for one hour only.

An exclusive Vampire Diaries postcard will be available to get signed on the day.

Due to limited time available, 350 wristbands for access to the queue will be issued from the store on the day of the event from 9am, first-come-first-served, in person only, no reservations, one wristband per person only while stocks last.

Hub Productions Video Contest for Vampire Diaries Event in Austrailia

Five Super Youth committed to service and social change took to the stage to accept their nods, which were made by stars from hit TV series including Sara Canning and Zach Roerig of the Vampire Diaries. The Do Something Awards are about to rock social change. The Awards honor the best young world-changers, 25 and under, that are making the world a better place. They truly represent the pivotal doers in their field, cause or issue. And this year, they are getting the credit they deserve!

The Do Something Awards will air live on VH1 on July 19th from Hollywood! And this will not be a typical awards show.

Nina Dobrev Makes Jim Halterman's Top 10 Prime Time Babes List

The Salvatore brothers aka Damon and Stefan made the cut for Jim's other prime time list for guys. Now it's time for the ladies to get some love.

Nobody knew who Nina Dobrev was a year ago at this time but with the smash success of the CW’sVampire Diaries, Dobrev has not only proven herself as a strong mortal but as a must-see actress. On one hand, Elena is torn between two brother vampires (Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, who both made the hunks list!) but Dobrev also has the unique chance to showcase her range as the evil Katherine, who shockingly returned from the dead in the season finale of the freshman series. And, to be clear, none of it would have been as convincing without Dobrev’s talent.

Nina Dobrev Casted in Indie Action Flick "Deathgames" Starring Samuel L. Jackson and Kellan Lutz!

According to THR: Heat Vision Blog, Nina Dobrev, star of CW’s “The Vampire Diaries,” has joined the cast of “Deathgames,” MPCA’s indie action movie starring Kellan Lutz and Samuel L. Jackson.

The story centers on a young man (Lutz) who is kidnapped and forced into the savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses in games orchestrated by Jackson.

Dobrev is playing Lutz’s wife.

Marcos Siega's favorite episode to shoot was "Lost Girls"

They had a really hard time casting for the series, when they saw Nina she blew them away.

They needed guys that had chemistry and felt like they struck gold with Ian and Paul.

They were getting negative feedback from fans of the book as far as Ian not being the right Damon, Paul not being the right Stefan, and Nina not being Blonde.

They try to honor aspects of the books, but wanted the show to be it's own thing.

There's a great talent pool in ATL, but wanted to make sure they cast people that were best for the role.

"Kevin, Julie, and I would have a united front on decisions that were best for the show i.e. casting, equipment etc."

They couldn't clear some of the names from the books...so Kevin came up with names and changed them as they moved along.

Direction to Ian for Epi 19 "Miss Mystic Falls" was," when you're dancing, no goofing around, for the first time you're in love with someone. "

Hiatuses were scheduled from the beginning.

As producer he hired the directors, selected ones that were better than him. He wanted to protect the show.

Any time Nina had to be undressed was hard for him, because he thinks of her as a kid. He wanted 2 make sure they were comfortable.

He had a lot of fun with Paul and Ian. They goofed around a lot on set.

He did a little research on the color palette of Twilight. He wanted 2 do everything differently i.e. style, color etc.

Oh goodness @ErnestoRiley aka Matt Davis who plays Alaric just called in...this could get interesting.

"You need to censor yourself on twitter my friend!" He doesn't want Ernesto to be on TMZ. --Siega to Matt Davis

They're talking about Justin Bieber and Jedi training. Marcos was sitting next to Justin Bieber on a plane, he didn't know who he was until people started screaming! He asked the boy who looked like an 8 yr old what were they screaming for. The boy responds, "I'm Justin Bieber!" Marcos replies, "Justin who?"

Matt Davis has disconnected..interview continues

He's not returning for season 2 for personal reasons..he loves the show so much, but family comes first.

He did hire all the directors for next season of The Vampire Diaries and will direct episode 10 of season 2.

Kevin and Julie have a lot of ideas of where they want 2 go, everything that he has heard is spectacular.

"The Vampire Diaries" took home the Cast of the Year trophy at last week's Young Hollywood Awards and actress Sara Canning, who plays Jenna Sommers on The CW series, chatted excitedly with StyleList as she prepped for the big night. The Canadian actress filled us in on how she gets red carpet ready, which of her stylish cast mates makes the ideal shopping wing woman and why posture really makes an outfit.

SL: Which of your castmates makes the best shopping partner?

Definitely Candice (Accola)! She's a great shopper and she comes up with really interesting outfits. She's great with vintage stuff, too. She's got such a girly side but still a lot of edge so she's really fun to shop with.

SL: Whose opinion means the most to you when you're choosing an outfit for a big event?

Nina (Dobrev) is always really encouraging but really honest about everything. We were roommates for four months so I had a lot of opportunities to ask her opinions on outfits.

Ausiello Gives Season 2 Summary of the Vampire Diaries!

Wow, the CW really let it fly at the Upfronts and the day has only started!

According to Ausiello Here's the summary from the CW:

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: Next season, the appearance of the villainous Katherine in Mystic Falls throws a wrench into the love triangle between Stefan, Elena and Damon, and the other residents of Mystic Falls must choose sides as they fall victim to a new breed of danger. New and unexpected friendships will be forged, allies will become enemies, and hearts will be broken. Stefan and Damon will be forced to face a villain more evil and diabolical than they ever believed possible. And they’ll take their shirts off. Frequently.

So Nina will be playing a dual role for who knows how long next season. Also, Vampire Diaries will remain in it's normal time slot. The new CW pilot, Nikita will come on right after. The Fall should be awesome!

The season finale has come and gone, but I think we're all so excited to see what happens next. Julie talks with iF about werewolves, other demonic elements we can expect as the seasons progress, and a timetable for the TV series. The article was published 5/13/2010.

iF: Are you on the books’ timetable as far as introducing other creatures besides vampires, or is the TV series on its own timetable?

Well, [there was an] episode that kind of gave a hint about the Tyler Lockwood [Michael Trevino] character. Somebody said, “Why are you such a jerk, why are you the way you are?” and he says, “I don’t know,” and we pan up to the full moon. Anybody who’s read the books knows that his character in the books is a werewolf and one of the choices that we’ve made is, we are going to go down that road, we’re going to explore that, but before we write a word for it, we [will] have met with our visual effects team and our concept design team to make sure that we know exactly what it is we want to do, because we’ve come to learn on CURSED, the werewolf is the worst thing to design and make look good, especially on a TV budget, so we’re going to make sure we do it right. We’re going to think a little bit outside the box, we’re going to figure out how we can design it so that we can make the effects look good, what parts are going to be prosthetic, what parts are going to be makeup effects and what’s going to be CG, and only then when we feel good about it will we start talking about stories.

iF: You currently have vampires and witches and ghosts, and you’ll have werewolves – are there any other entities that may visit Mystic Falls?

There are going to be hints of other supernatural elements in the town. It’ll be a slow burn. Right now, the vampires and the witches are the true centerpiece of the show. Werewolves will come down the line. But we won’t just stop there – there will occasionally, not every week but occasionally, be other demonic elements and the like.
