SciFiWire Interview with Matt Davis: Things Getting Hotter!

Via SciFiWire

"Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll ... it's all going to come out," said Davis with a laugh. "It is such a well-crafted show, and every script is better than the last one. There are so many things that are being told and then threaded throughout. I think everyone is going to be really pleased with the way this season ends."

"I absolutely adore Ian. He's such an amazing person on so many levels," said Davis. The 31-year-old actor considers himself to be the "old man" on the set, especially considering that Somerhalder is all of six months younger than him. "We have so much fun working together, so when the camera's not rolling we're just cracking jokes and having a good time. Then when it's on we're still having fun, even though our characters could usually kill each other or want to kill each other. Underneath it, we're just having a blast."

Makeup, hair and wardrobe; we all work together. The actors are just phenomenal, they are all just so sweet. I am just so blessed to be on the show. Episode Stills for "Founder's Day"

Here are more stills for the Season Finale. I don't know about you, but the most intriguing still is Bonnie and Damon. Damon and Elena holding hands leaves me with no words, all I can do is hope it has something to do with Jeremy. My lovely Erin aka Speedmouse came up with that theory. More can be found in the VampireSite gallery. Thanks to Ruthie at VDO and Ashely at TVDStarbuzz for the heads up!

Matt Davis Exclusive Interview with IESB

Via IESB

IESB: Alaric Saltzman is such a dark, mysterious character. How much were you told about him when you were cast, and how much have you learned as you’ve gone along?

Matt: I accepted the offer blind. I had no idea what the character was. I didn't know if I was going to be a vampire, or what. The material I auditioned with wasn't Alaric. It was scenes from the previous history teacher, before he was killed. I really had no idea what I was getting myself into, but it seemed like an exciting opportunity. The nature of the business, the way it is, I wanted to work, so I said yes. I only knew, when I landed and got a script, and they took me to the set to meet everybody and I started asking questions.

IESB: Are there any hints you can give, as to what’s in store for Alaric? Is there anything you’re particularly excited about viewers getting to see, before the end of the season?

Matt: I really just enjoy the development between Alaric and Damon. I've really enjoyed working with Ian Somerhalder. He’s such a wonderful human being, and Damon is such a fun character to play with. I've enjoyed that relationship. It's been fun to play.

FOUNDER'S DAY TURNS DEADLY - Founder's Day has finally arrived, and everyone is busy with last-minute preparations for floats and fireworks. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is uncomfortable with Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) new attitude toward Elena (Nina Dobrev), but Elena is more concerned about repairing her relationship with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). Jeremy is worried about Anna (guest star Malese Jow), but not sure he's on board with her latest plan for the future. While Caroline (Candice Accola) is enjoying her day as Queen of the celebration, she also tries to help Matt (Zach Roerig) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) get their friendship back on track. Finally, although Damon and Alaric (Matt Davis) do their best to stop him, Johnathan Gilbert (guest star David Anders) sets a plan in motion that brings Founder's Day to an end amid chaos, destruction and death. Sara Canning and Katerina Graham also star. Posted on VampireSite.net. Marcos Siega directed the episode written by Bryan Oh & Andrew Chambliss (121)..

Katerina Graham is a Scene Stealer!!!

Via TVGuide

WHY WE LOVE HER “Kat’s got a positive energy,” says exec producer Julie Plec. “The audience really connects to her.” But it’s not all Ms. Nice Gal. Says exec producer Kevin Williamson, “Bonnie is strong and can’t be pushed around.”

A JILL OF ALL TRADES Besides her full-time acting gig, Graham’s currently working on an album of “edgy pop.” She also has a degree in sound recording and speaks four languages! “I always want to educate myself,” Graham says. We’d say she deserves an A+.

TGITVD Thursday!!

Tonight is an all new episode of the Vampire Diaries! "Miss Mystic Falls" sounds like a nice pageant doesn't it? However, I have a feeling things are going to heat up just a notch! Stefan is still addicted to human blood and clearly going through the addiction syndrome. Bonnie is back with all new spells and an attitude, Caroline is probably still a little shaken from discovering Vicki's body, Uncle John aka Uncle Sam will have many things up his tuxedo sleeve, and then of course there's Damon and Elena. We'll just have to wait until 8/7C to see how everything plays out!

After tonight, we'll only have 2 episodes left until the season finale! They wrapped up shooting yesterday *tear*. The cast and crew have been amazing! Kevin and Julie are just absolutely brilliant, they keep everyone on their toes and hanging from a cliff every time. So congrats for all the hard work you've put into this wonderful show that can't be compared or duplicated. When did the books come out?

iF Magazine Exclusive Interview with Ian Somerhalder!

Via iF Magazine

iF: You and Paul Wesley seem to have a great onscreen rapport. Was it there since the day you started?

SOMERHALDER: We love each other. We are like brothers. We dress alike. It’s kind of freaky. But we do have a great rapport. The thing is I realize this: I could be doing this with anyone else… Paul is such a phenomenally talented committed actor, and he’s my good friend, and we could be doing this with anybody else and we got lucky. We worked really hard to get these roles and we’re going to continue to work even harder to keep them.

iF: Will the people who have read THE VAMPIRE DIARIES book, will they know what’s coming or are you guys going to go in a different direction?

SOMERHALDER: We deviate a bit. Not a bit, a lot. And it’s necessary just for production reasons. This isn’t a movie. This is a show that’s going to evolve and we’re going to get to evolve with these characters and we’re going to get to see hopefully everyone of these girls half naked. It’s for the audience. I want the audience to be satisfied.

New Damon and Elena Promo Poster!

Via TVDStarbuzz courtesy of Vampire-Diaries.net

"Drawn together, And not pulling away."

I'm definitely not to happy about seeing this new promo poster, but not surprised. The next episodes leading up to the season finale are sure to be intense as well as set things up for season 2. As Nina Dobrev stated in her interview with PopWrap, "All I will tell you is that as things keep progressing, them teaming up in any way is always out of circumstance. It’s always out of necessity. Elena is very loyal, has high morals and whatever she does, it’s for good. She’s nothing like Katherine. She’s not conniving and she would never do anything to hurt Stefan. "

This statement is the only thing keeping me Stelena strong. I'm sure there are many Dalena shippers reading this blog, so make sure you leave comments.

Malese Jow Talks with Hollywood Crush about Auditioning for Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder, and More!!

Via Hollywood Crush

The challenge of playing someone who is hundreds of years old is not lost on Malese, who said the concept is a little difficult to grasp. "There's so much wisdom that comes with so many years of being alive. It was definitely hard because I'm just this 19-year-old girl. But I was born an old soul, so I think that helps a lot. I think that carried Anna along and they really liked where Anna was going. So I guess I did a good job with that!"

She also got a little guidance on playing a vampire from her costar, Ian Somerhalder. When they had to grab each other's necks in a fight scene, "he said, 'Go for it, because you're supposed to be so strong. So squeeze my neck, hold your arm tight,' and it looked so real," Malese said. "It actually looked like we were having a little battle royale. It turned out great. He's been very helpful."

Today Online Interview with Nina, Ian, and Paul!

Via Today Online Also, big thanks to NinaDobrevArg for the heads up!

How would you explain the evolving image of vampires? Twenty years ago, they were associated with blood and death, and now they're sexy and adorable.

Ian Somerhalder: It's deviated, yeah. First of all, let's all be honest - we're all sitting in this room because of the success of Twilight. This genre is now a massive ball that can't be reckoned with. Vampire lore is a really great basis for storytelling. You have the ostracised outsider who is very introspective and conflicted in every way, shape, and form.

Nina Dobrev: A lot of girls like bad boys. It's the whole mysterious, sexy, scary, and dangerous vibe. The vampires of 20 years ago were scary and crazy, and you didn't want them to bite you. Now, every girl wants a vampire to bite her.

Paul Wesley: I also think it's very interesting to have this creature that's so violent and gory and twisted inside this shell that's pale, thin, frail, youthful ...

Ian: Are you calling me pale and frail?

Paul: Yeah. You need to get some sun.

Nina: You both need to get some sun.
