Ausiello Makes Dalena Fans Very Happy with this New Spoiler!

I can't wait to start The Vampire Diaries Chronicle again, because I have quite a few opinions about this spoiler. There will be true turmoil between Bonnie and Elena for so many obvious reasons. Is it March 25th yet?!!

Question: I am dying here without Vampire Diaries! Please give us some scoop on the Damon-Elena relationship because I am loving it! —Ash

Ausiello: Then prepare to love this season’s final string of episodes, which exec producer Julie Plec tells me will be heavily focused on the pair. “We’ll see Damon start to look at Elena as more than just his brother’s girlfriend or the doppelganger to the love of his life,” she reveals. “He’ll start to love and understand her as a human being, which is ironic because Damon could typically give a s–t about anything involving humanity. It’s some good stuff.”

ITV2: Official Trailer for Episodes 4-6

I just love the trailers from other countries!!

ITV2 Rating for Episode 3 "Friday Night Bites"

In the same slot, the third episode ITV2's US import The Vampire Diaries was watched by 494,000, a 2% multichannel share, down 353,000 viewers on its launch episode last week. Another 132,000 tuned in an hour later on catchup service ITV2 +1.

Saturday Night Magazine Interviews Zach Roerig, Katerina Graham, and Sara Canning

Zach Roerig

Matt seems to have moved on from his relationship with Elena and losing Vicki. What’s coming up for him during the rest of the season?

Viewers can expect to see Matt allowing himself to be happy and seeking contentment. Caroline will be a big part of that.

Your character experienced unrequited love with Elena and is now into Caroline. What kind of girl would you consider to be your type?
In my mind I picture my perfect girl being a lover of both animals and nature with a great sense of humor. If I have that I'll be a lucky man.

How are you liking all the increased press and fan attention?
I’m taking it with a grain of salt. Filming in Atlanta has its perks as far allowing us to really focus on our work. At the end of the day, it’s nice to see and feel the appreciation from everyone’s hard work.

Who is the funniest person on the cast? Any practical jokers?
Ian is the best for one liners; as far as practical jokers I'd say I’m surrounded. Very fun group of people.

Sara Canning

Does it feel weird to play aunt to Nina and Steven, who are so close in age to you?
Nina [Dobrev] is my roommate and a very close friend, and Steven [McQueen] is a great friend as well – so because of our close relationships off-set, the concept of Nina and Steven being my family on the show doesn’t seem weird at all. I think the family dynamic between Jenna, Elena and Jeremy feels fairly natural too - Jenna is young herself and experiencing the pains of growing up and gaining responsibility just like they are. In terms of age, it is odd that I play a parental figure to Nina and Steven, especially because I’m actually one of the youngest on set!

What’s something people might not know about Nina?

Nina is a chocolate fiend. If I bring chocolate into the apartment, she asks that I hide it so she can’t find it. She is also a connoisseur when it comes to making me delicious coffee concoctions in the morning. If Nina weren’t an actress, she’d open a yoga studio that serves gourmet baked goods and coffee to all the yogis. It’d be the first of its kind.

Is the cast really tight? What has it been like shooting together in Atlanta?
The cast is extremely close and I feel very privileged to work with such a fun, talented, genuine group of people. We’ve had a great time exploring Atlanta together. Everyone’s pretty adventurous, so whether we’re taking weekend trips to the lake or having dinners together, we stay pretty entertained.

Kat
erina Graham

Who do you hang out with most on set?
The girls...Nina, Sara and Candice. I love them so much. We go to the movies, maybe go out to eat.

The series has quickly developed a huge fanbase. Do you read anything about the show or the cast on fansites or gossip blogs?
All the time. I stay very connected to the fans and support their sites, blogs, art etc. I love getting all these beautiful letters from around the world.

How are you balancing your singing career with being a series regular on a TV show?
I'm focused on the show when I'm working on the show. When I do music it's on my off time, when I'm not shooting and when I can dedicate myself to it.

David Anders Will Potray Uncle Gilbert

Photo Courtesy of Scott Alan/PR Photos

Via Ausiello Files

David Anders, who (spoiler alert) permanently clocked out of 24 last night, has rebounded with a multi-episode arc on The CW smash, sources confirm to me exclusively.

The Alias and Heroes alum will play Elena and Jeremy’s uncle, Jonathan Gilbert, who comes to Mystic Falls to “cause some trouble,” teases an insider.

If that name sounds familiar, it’s because, well, it should. Johnathan Gilbert (yes, that’s with an “h”) is the name of Elena and Jeremy’s circa-1800 ancestor. Old school Johnathan debuted via flashback earlier this month as played by Joe Knezevich.

Look for Anders’ present-day Jonathan to turn up in April.

CW Star Annie's Rapid Fire with TVD Cast

Via Watch with Kristin

Monica: Damon and Stefan for the win! Any scoop on Vampire Diaries?

Sorry, but I only have some good news for you Damon-Elena shippers: Stefan may get a taste of human blood again soon, which may change his personality a bit, and I can't imagine that goes over well with good girl Elena. Katherine, on the other hand, would love it, right? Also, you'll never guess whose body is going to be found? Vicki! So this means that (a) she really is dead and not coming back as boss Kevin Williamson told us and (b) Jeremy is so gonna find everything out, right? That has to be where all this is heading, given that he's realizing that there are vampires in Mystic Falls. The only question is: What will Damon do when he is found out? Shudder.

Sean Faris Lands Lead Role in New CW Pilot

Sean Faris may no longer be stalking the woods of Mystic Falls on the "Vampire Diaries," but that doesn't mean his dance with The CW is over. The 27-year-old actor has just been cast as the lead in the series "The Wyoming Project," penned by "Gilmore Girls" writer Amy Sherman-Palladino. We're betting execs saw his hot, hot Men's Health cover and knew they couldn't let the star flee too far.

Katerina and Rihanna are Trend Twins According to Essence

Of course this isn't a fan site for Rihanna, but any story that includes our lovely stars of TVD is worth mentioning. What I like about Katerina is that she's not afraid to do her own thing. She pushes the fashion button to no end and you can't help, but the think the final result is flawless.
Rihanna and Vampire Diaries' actress Katerina Graham are the latest stars to adopt Hollywood's newest "trendlet": The curly bangs-and-hat combo. How cute is this? The perfect antidote to award seasons' fancy red carpet hairstyles, this casually fly look flatters both short and long hair (Katerina's loose curls hit her mid-back, and Rihanna...well, we have a feeling you're familiar with her cut).

The Vampire Diaries Renewed for Another Season!!

If there was ever any doubt that TVD was going to renewed for a second season, CW has put out the press release to put all speculation to rest. Here is the official word about our beloved series.
The series receiving early renewals include this season’s breakout hit THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, The CW’s most-watched show (4.6 million viewers) and the network’s number one show among adults 18-34 (2.5/8). THE VAMPIRE DIARIES premiere generated the largest audience in network history for a series debut (5.7 million total viewers). THE VAMPIRE DIARIES has improved The CW’s performance Thursday at 8:00 p.m. by 114% among women 18-34 this season.

Paul Wesley Talks with TV Guide About What's In Store for TVD

Fans of the CW’s fang-tastic new series The Vampire Diaries are definitely giving Twi-hards a run for their money. Hundreds of devotees proved their neck-and-neck loyalty during an autograph signing at Hot Topic in Westfield Topanga Mall over the weekend – and appropriately enough for the Valentine’s Day weekend, fans came prepared to profess their true love with red roses, cards – and phone numbers! – in hand.

Star Paul Wesley spoke to TV Guide Magazine about what’s in store for young lovers Stefan and Elena, Katherine’s whereabouts, and Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) heartbreak and continued vengeance.

“There will always be conflict. That's just the nature of the story,” said Wesley of his on-screen relationship with Elena (Nina Dobrev). “Her mortality is a huge thing. What if she wants to turn? But for now they're going to [be] a little less sort of serious and more like, ‘Let’s be a normal couple. Let's laugh and do stuff that normal humans do.’”

“One of my favorite things about the show is the flashbacks,” said Wesley. “There’s still so much to cover, like what happened? We’re still at just the tip of the iceberg. There's so much for us to explore with 1864, but what did they do in 1910? What about 1950? It's amazing how much we can explore.”

Who Would You Switch Wardrobes with On TV?

Nina Dobrev's character Elena on Vampire Diaries has made quite the impression on those who love fashion from her leather jackets to the jewelry. JSYK gives a little insight on why they think Elena's wardrobe is the best on TV!

If you could switch wardrobes with one character on TV, who would you pick?

We'd definitely choose Vampire Diaries' Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) for her easy chic style. StyleBakeryTeen.com agrees with us and spills on how to copy this vampire-dating-teen's best looks.

Step one: Invest in a leather jacket. You'll give a simple outfit major style. Step two: Have plenty of basics on hand. You'll always find Elena wearing jeans and a slim-fit tee or tank. Step three: Make sure your outfit has an interesting detail, like lace on a tank or a tee with studs. And finally, find yourself a signature piece like a chunky bracelet or charm necklace – something that people will see and automatically think of you.

Wanna know where Elena shops? Then head over to the CW store. They actually tell you where to get the clothes you see in the episodes.

Special Guest Post by Niyah Diamond: My Experience at the LA HT Cast Tour

Finally! The Vampire Diaries Cast tour made it to California this Saturday. Like all the L.A fans, I was looking forward to meeting Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. We were kept on tenterhooks since the first date of the Cast Tour in Atlanta on January 23.

I arrived on-site at noon. Many fans were already here in the line leading to the Hot Topic store. According to KTLA, some were there since 8 in the morning! It was a pretty epic experience given I am not the kind to love crowds and screaming people around me. Well, you know... the thing I won't do for the Vampire Diaries!I had to do this at least once.

After a quick lunch, I headed to the line with my teenage daughter. She had the good idea of bringing some stuff to get busy. Lots of fans were eating on the floor.Reminded me of high school camps!

It was a pretty cool atmosphere.Hot Topic had a team interviewing fans while in the line. KTLA and the Warner Bros. had teams filming and interviewing people too. I made new connections since I am myself a journalist.Very positive experience!

I tweeted non stop with the TVD pals, best recipe to kill your batteries in no time! At least I could give the status on what was going on, and get news regarding the cast as well.

We learned that both Nina and Ian were snowbound in Atlanta and that only Paul had made it to California. Not sure Stefan would appreciate to see his brother Damon trapped somewhere with the beautiful Elena! Who knows what he'd do.... That was a bummer for the fans! They started to be a bit upset and feeling disadvantaged as opposed to the Atlanta and Paramus fans. Most of them being young females, we could sense a bit of frustration.

Later, we got the news Ian eventually got on a plane but couldn't make it for the signing though. At that time, Nina already tweeted that she wouldn't be there. Damon would finally give us his killer eyes! And that news made them young ladies chuckle.

In the Hot Topic store, KTLA Sam Rubin interviewed Paul Wesley right before they started to get people in for the signing. Paul Wesley alone would represent the cast due to the snow and transportation problem. They allowed us in by little groups of 15. We were told "no smooching" and stuff, haha! Tempted but I wouldn't have dared...

The signing was a very cool moment. Paul is very sweet and caring to his fans. He told me my designs rocked...Yes I am also a fashion designer, and I'd be delighted to outfit these two hunky vamps! Once in the store it happened pretty fast, Paul welcomed us warmly, we exchanged a few words and he signed a poster.

The wait was very long before the Q&A. The CW was busting its head off to get Ian and Nina at the Westfield Topanga. Yes, she finally would be there too! In meantime, the band "A Fine Frenzy" performed 2 songs for the fans' greater pleasure.

When they eventually announced Ian and Nina were both at the Los Angeles International airport, I truly understood how useful earplugs can be!They both were transported by helicopter. They made it! L.A fans could enjoy the Q&A with the best 'menage a threesome' ever!

We had a great time, these guys truly rock! They put on their irresistible smiles and you feel totally mesmerized. Just too bad we couldn't meet the three of them at the signing. Maybe another time... Happy ending! What else? This is not Mystic Falls guys...

Brilliant Casting Makes Vampire Diaries a Success Says Kevin Williamson

Via Entertainment Today

“For that kind of success you need the right girl, and we certainly got lucky with casting Nina Dobrev,” Williamson says. Nina plays the beautifully tragic Elena, whose destiny is inescapably linked to the mysterious vampire siblings who come to the small town of Mystic Falls.

Completing the desirable trio, Paul Wesley (Fallen) plays the solemn swain Stefan, and Ian Somerhalder (Lost) is the older intense Damon, and plays him with badboy panache.

Williamson says the brothers’ conflict would not work without a strong female lead who is the object of both their desires, pure and unholy. “It is always hard to find that anchor. And if you look at the signature CW shows, you’ll always see that anchor girl.”

The casting helps Williamson with his writing for the show, he reveals. “We have so scored with Nina and the two guys, Paul and Ian. I think I hit a home run. For whatever part I played in that casting, I pat myself on the back, because that has saved me on whatever script I turn out. They are so good they make the material even better.”

Looking ahead, Williamson confirms the speculation that werewolves are coming. He reports, “For everyone who’s been watching, they know that we’ve hinted of it already. And if you’ve read the books you know which character is the first. I’ll tell you it will be triggered by a peculiar activity.”

Looking further ahead, if The Vampire Diaries has a really long run, Williamson jokes that his vampire actors might start to look older, and vampires aren’t supposed to age. “I have actually thought about that, and I’m pleased that, with modern technology, we’ll be able to correct that problem when we’re faced with it. We’ll just increase the special effects budget.”

Sam Rubin from KTLA Interviews Paul Wesley at LA Hot Topic Event

Our very own Sam Rubin briefly interviewed Paul Wesley during the Hot Topic Event yesterday in LA. I love how Paul really appreciates his fans, seems so grateful for all the attention. As Sam Rubin says, it's the last stop on the mall tour. However, I hope that after season one they'll hit the road to other cities.

TVD Tidbits: Ratings, Casting News, CW Annie Interview with Matt Davis

According to TBTN, CW’s Vampire Diaries was down a bit and saw lows with adults 18-49 and even with Women 18-34 it was on the low side (perhaps a series low with a 2.4 W18-34 rating).

Casting News!!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Martines has landed a recurring role on the CW's freshman drama "Vampire Diaries."

He will play a bad-ass vampire named Frederick who is locked in the tomb where Katherine (Nina Dobrev) was once thought to be and is up to no good when released.

Following last night's episode, which revealed that Katherine is not in the tomb, the vampire drama is going on a six-week hiatus, returning with originals on March 25.

Stephen Martines, a former soap star who started off on "General Hospital" and "The Guiding Light," recently recurred on TNT's crime drama "The Closer, " where he played a news reporter who asked Brenda (Kyra Sedgwick) some tough questions.

"Fool Me Once" Review and Promo for TVD Return on March 25th

Where do I begin with this episode? R.I.P. to Grams, who everyone thought would be the latest victim of TVD heaven. Before Grams went to meet her maker, she gave Damon a little witch treat. He came to the house looking for Bonnie and threatened Grams with, "step outside and say that." I think he temporarily lost his mind, but it was to late. Grams had put some kind of skin burning voodoo on his ass and shut the door!

Of course, "the situation" of Mystic Falls was in full affect tonight. Once again I'm ready to see Stefan feed on somebody besides a damn rabbit! I'm team Stefan all day, but the scene of Elena and Damon at the Salvatore house was a little touching. I don't know why really. Damon tried to kill both of Elena's friends, he's been torturing my poor Stefan for a century, and just wreaking havoc on the whole town.

I guess the acknowledgment that he just wanted to have a little "real" fun and didn't compel Elena to do so, said a lot about how he feels about her. I think in a way Elena is still so grateful to Damon for erasing Jeremy's memory, that she's blinded by all the selfish behavior he's displayed. On that note, Jeremy and Anna have some real chemistry, it's to bad that their relationship will be poisoned by vamp blood. However, this may be just the key for that little memory of his to bust wide open and that should only add a layer or two to the storyline.

I never thought Ben was anything special, just a little side dish to the main course. So I was elated to see "the situation"torch his ass! Tyler has to become a werewolf soon, I mean there's only so much partying and bullying I can take. Where was my Alaric? I'm getting use to the boss! Also, Matoline equals cuteness, but without a little vampness or some other magical element their relationship can become a bore.

I guess that pretty much sums it up! I have a feeling these weeks will go by pretty fast. I love the Olympics, so at least it won't be a total bore. Although, half my hair will be missing come March 25th. Special shout out to the amazing writers of the show and actors who really put their heart and soul into the characters. I love you and keep bringing it!!

Fancast Interview with Katerina Graham

Via Fancast Thanks to Ruthie from VDO for the heads up!
Katerina Graham’s Bonnie began the season as Elena’s ditzy best friend on ‘Vampire Diaries.’ She soon was revealed to be a witch whose ancestor played a key role in Mystic Falls’ history. Graham has expertly transformed Bonnie from a carefree teen to a young woman who is embracing her powers.

Why is Bonnie’s grandmother, Sheila (Jasmine Guy), so young?

A lot of people ask that. She’s a witch. She can make herself look younger. That’s why she looks so great.

Who are your closest friends in the cast?

I’m close with all the girls. From the beginning of the show, when we started shooting, we just bonded. I saw Kayla [Ewell, Vicki] last night. She’s one of my good friends. Nina [Dobrov, Elena] and I obviously have the most scenes together so we spend the most time together because but we’re really close. She’s great.

Poor Bonnie has not had the best luck with love so far.

It’s not bad luck. I just don’t think she really cares. Most of this first season has been about finding herself and finding her strength and figuring out who she is. I think that’s important. I love that she has not had a boyfriend yet.

Within the Vampires Diaries universe, there are vampires, witches and werewolves. Why are witches the most awesome?

Witches have a moral standpoint. They don’t have barriers. Vampires have this self-battle they’re constantly dealing with, these cravings they can’t escape from. Witches don’t have that. Witches are more in control of their choices in terms of what they say and what they do. We can make stronger decisions quicker in a lot of ways than vampires because vampires turn into these animals, these hunters. Witches can plan more. But I also think vampires are stronger physically, so it’s kind of a give and take.

Best Boyfriends on TV: Stefan Salvatore

Via Television Without Pity

We don't often get all mushy and romantic over here at TWoP, but it's Valentine's week, the one time of the year when we do have a little bit of a heart. To take advantage of this momentary lapse of cynicism, we decided to spotlight the often underappreciated characters on TV who are really just amazingly wonderful guys we wish we were dating or (dare we dream) married to. If they actually existed, that is.
Stefan (The Vampire Diaries)
He's far from perfect: he's a vampire who gets little vein-popping eyes when he's angry, he's often a cold-blooded killer, he has a lot of secrets and he can be a little distant. However, he's fiercely loyal and would do anything to protect his beloved Elena. And did you hear that speech about how he'd been watching (stalking) her for months after her parents' death? Swoon. That'd do in any teenage girl - even ones who aren't technically teenagers any more.

TGITVD THURSDAY!!!!

SECRETS OF THE TOMB

Stefan (Paul Wesley) helps Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Bonnie (Katerina Graham) out of a dangerous situation. Jeremy (Steve R. McQueen) asks Anna (guest star Malese Jow) to a party in the woods, unaware that she has her own reasons for wanting to meet him there.

When Stefan, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena work with Bonnie and Grams (guest star Jasmine Guy) to open the tomb, everyone is shocked by what they discover. Candice Accola, Zach Roerig and Michael Trevino also star.

Julie Plec has stated that it will be a tragic end to this episode. What does that mean? Grams will no longer be with us after the dreadful hiatus? Tyler? I'd suggest a warm compress and a shot of vodka on the side..this episode is sure to be a roller coaster!

The Vampire Diaries Win 3 CW Awards!!

Congratulations to TVD for winning the following CW Awards. I know there will be many more to come..keep up the good work!

Will You Still Be Alive by March 25th? TVD Hiatus Time!

I'm late posting, but figured I should. "Fool Me Once" will be the last episode before the winter hiatus. The Vampire Diaries will return with all new episodes on March 25th, 2010. The CW doesn't want to compete with the Olympics rating wise and this hiatus will ensure that the show will be on during May sweeps. I've already pulled out some hair, so I should be bald by the time March 25th rolls around. If you have something to say, just smear it on the wall in the comment section.

The Vampire Diaries on Blog Talk Radio

Great Review on Pop Watch- Diggin' up Bones

I love this review by EW Pop Watch. Full Review here

Here’s my question: Did Stefan really believe that Katherine wasn’t evil at that point? If he had Vervain in his system, then didn’t he mean it when he told her he wanted her for himself? Remember when Stefan first told Elena that he was a vampire, he said Katherine used mind compulsion so the brothers would never know she was bedding them both — when did that change? With the Vervain or earlier? Did she never kill people in front of Stefan, only in front of Damon? What happened to finally make Stefan see how evil she was? We still don’t know which brother was turned first and how. Katherine was carted off with a muzzle like Hannibal Lecter. Did she see them both again and turn them before tomb time? Had she already turned Damon when she was caught, and we just didn’t see it? I feel like Doc Jensen here. Can’t wait for those reveals. But we did find out that Stefan putting his faith in his father, when Damon had faith in him not to, is why Damon blames Stefan for Katherine’s “death.” And why Damon no longer trusts Stefan, and, you know what, rightfully so.

While “Family Night” was happening, Stefan had gone to the high school to look for Jonathan Gilbert’s journal, which would give a clue about where to find Emily’s spellbook, which would tell them how to undo the spell guarding the tomb. Damon had tasked Elena with finding it when he popped up on the end of Stefan’s bed at the start of the episode between the couple’s spooning and morning sex sessions. (Side note: New all-time favorite Damon line! Damon: “Oh, stop being smutty.” Stefan: “Seriously, get out of here.” Damon: “If I see something I haven’t seen before, I’ll throw a dollar at it.” Ha! Nice touch having Elena pull the covers over her head for an extended period of time. One would want to pretend that moment wasn’t happening.) Anyway, Alaric, who’s apparently afraid to turn on the lights in his classroom, decided to make a copy of the journal in the teacher’s lounge. Smart. He then put the journal on his desk. Dumb. Of course, when he sensed a vampire was lurking in the hallways and went to get his homemade superstaker gun, Anna snuck in off-camera and took the journal.

Sexy Combo: Nina Dobrev and Tyler Shields

As some of you know, Tyler Shields is one of the most provocative and talented photographers out there. His videos which can be found on his site are very sexy, dirty, and one of a kind. Nina Dobrev was his next muse. More photos can be found here. Can we get Ian and Paul next?
