Ausiello: New-blood alert! The show is casting the potentially recurring role of Vanessa, a very attractive, smart, young grad student who assists Damon and Alaric with their werewolf research at Alaric’s alma mater, Duke University.
My pick for the role would be Rachel Bilson. The person cast has to be sassy, witty, and can hold their ground when dealing with Team Dalaric.

as much as i love Rachel, i think she's to cute for the role but someone like Jordana Brewster. might do well, or like Mila Kunis
