The anticipation was very high for this episode. It's not like we haven't had a hiatus before, so why the frenzy? Maybe it had to do with the fact that people saw it at Paley Fest. It's like being in a room full of people and everyone knows the secret but you or it could be that there's the reality of a dooming season finale that we've been assured will have more cliffhangers than the 80's soap Dallas!
So going into the episode I was convinced that the man getting hit by a truck was a main character and not some crazy messenger sent by Elena's mom Isobel and speaking of Iso....I said she and Damon knew each other prior to his late night din din. How else would he be able to enter? Mia Kirshner was classic Jenny (L Word) tonight!
It's crazy, because even with the spoilers in tow the episode still shocked and had me feeling absolutely sick to my stomach of Mr. Selfish Salvatore. I get it, Katherine hurt him and it's the ultimate betrayal! However, Damon sunk to a whole new low. I do agree with Damon that Katherine sent Isobel to him, it's just a matter of piecing everything together. I really thought poor Alaric was dead and then I remembered the first look photo of Alaric, Damon, and Jonathan Gilbert, but man was I shocked to see how he managed to get out of that bind. Stefan looked like he was going to damn near pass out and poor Alaric looked grateful and confused. Stefan said, "that's impossible!" Well clearly it is and it's going to be a non-stop roller coaster until everything comes to head and leaves us all dangling from a cliff on May 13!
Hello Julie Cooper Nichol....oops Kelly Donovan!! She was awesome and definitely worth the wait. I feel so bad for Caroline though, she's really making an attempt with Matt and someone or something always reminds her that it just may be a hopeless relationship. I wasn't expecting to see Tyler at all, but Jeremy being MIA kind of through me off. We all knew that Bonnie would be dealing with the death of Grams, but her presence was definitely missed. I think Pearl's new domain is going to be a house of secrets and answers.
I thought it was interesting that Elena asked Stefan why he was protecting Damon. They seem to ask each other that question a lot. It just shows the struggle that him and Elena have with their relationships with Damon. Also for those that missed the mysterious phone number here's the number 919-399-2507. You can listen to it via YT as well.
Well we can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that we won't have any interruptions until the dreadful summer hiatus. Next up..."There Goes the Neighborhood" Via KsiteTv
As always the post will be updated once the extended promo is available.

There were so many unexpected twists- it was the perfect dose of TVD to refresh me after the hiatus.
ReplyDeleteI was really shocked and almost chuckled at Stefan's comment: "It's impossible." Um, hello. You are a vampire. I'm pretty sure anything is fair game.
Can't wait to get the TVD buzz talking about particulars again! And thanks for sharing about the Paley Fest- I was wondering why certain people were talking about the episode with such assurance ("it's a good one; trust me.")...it all makes sense now!
As for the mystery #, aka Iso's #, I definitely called. And will most likely call again, and perhaps again, throughout the week. Haha!
Best,
Aww thanks so much chick for reading and commenting. It's always appreciated! Yeah I called finally...this show kills me every time.
