I'm going to make tid-bits a permanent post on IHVD, as it's important to let the fans know about all the coverage that our favorite show is getting.

Ian Somerhalder is LimeLife's Male Sex Symbols of 2009
Our other sex symbol choice for 2009 is another vampire: Ian Somerhalder from the Vampire Diaries, the semi-new hit television show on the CW. I remember Ian from his part on Young Americans back in 2000, but forgot about him after the series ended. He's had some other parts since then like in Smallville and Lost (Ian is returning to Lost for the final season. Yay!), but he didn't really score that hit role until this year's Vampire Diaries and oh my god, he's hot! Ian Somerhalder plays Damon and let's just say we never realized it was possible to love an evil vampire so much. The show will be back in January and we can't wait to get some more screen time with Ian.

Review of The Vampire Diaries by Greek 4 Cheerful

I decided to post this review, because I feel it's insightful and honest. I met Greek4Cheerful on Twitter and as you can tell by her post it wasn't on the most friendliest terms. Now we have a great tweetship that I really adore. She's not to keen on Nina Dobrev playing Elena, because according to her there's a lack of emotion. I beg to differ, with any new series it may take a cast member a minute to settle. I wasn't sure about Nina until episode 2 when she was able to show some emotional range. I was willing to give her a chance, because I like her other works including "Too Young to Marry", "The Poet", and "Fugitive Pieces", so I wasn't giving up that easily. Also, the chemistry between her and Paul (Stefan) only solidified that opinion. Hopefully, as the season progresses I can nudge her in favor of Team Nina! Review below and feel free to leave comments. BTW..her blog is highly entertaining so make sure you stop by.

Well it was only a matter of time before I checked out The Vampire Diaries…being the vamp obsessed freak that I am. And while my first opinion was not very good of the show, it was also not very fair. I had made up my mind not to like it before watching it. I thought for sure it was a Twilight rip off- until someone pointed out to me that it was actually written first. After learning that, I decided I had definitely rushed to judgment and should watch the show a few more times.

A few more times??? Yeah right! One more episode and I was hooked like a crack fiend. My new addiction couldn’t have come at a better or worse time. Better because of the marathon that’s been airing this week, worse because the show is on hiatus until Jan 21rst- when it will return with new episodes.

The marathon has been great, being a new fan of the show I’ve been able to see it from the beginning so I’m up to speed on what’s going on. I have watched every night and at the end of every hour I just want more. The cast is amazing, I don’t think the characters could be portrayed any better. Casting Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder as Stefan and Damon Salvatore was pure genius. The only cast member I’m not completely in love with is Nina Dobrev. I’m not sure she was the best pick to play the lead role of Elena Gilbert. Nina is beautiful, sexy and fun… but when it comes to drama I just want to smack her so I can see some real emotion. However, I’m reserving judgment for now because even the cast of FRIENDS had a rough first season so I’m hopeful she will improve. The shows writers are also great, there’s a good mix of drama and humor with even a few jabs at Twilight- (simmer down Twihards I’m one of you and I still found it funny!)

Crack addict looking for a fix….

After only a few episodes I decided I had to get the book by L.J. Smith. I bought a book containing the first 2 books in The Vampire Diaries series, The Awakening and The Struggle. I couldn’t put it down, I read it in about 2 days and have been going stir crazy to get the other one! (Which I’m getting tomorrow) I am a huge fiction dork and have to admit to loving teen and young adult books even though I’m 29 years old. I thought Twilight was amazing, I loved the entire series and The Vampire Diaries is just as good and in some ways better. Better because the story has just as much substance packed into a shorter book and better because as much as I love- and I do mean LOVE- Edward Cullen we didn’t need the constant reminder of how great he was- to remember how great he was- and those reminders took up a majority of all four books. Don’t get me wrong I still love Twilight- Hey there’s room for both. I was just surprised at how much I loved The Vampire Diaries.

I’m going to cut this off before I start debating which is better The Vampire Diaries or Twilight and I can tell that’s where this is heading. And no one wants to read a debate I would be having with myself!

To sum it all up- It’s official…. I love The Vampire Diaries.

So I got the next 2 books in the series and I take it all back! The series is not as good as Twilight. LJ Smith took a wrong turn somewhere and I think the story fell apart. It’s amazing how much better the story is on the show, I usually prefer the book but not in this case.

What's going to happen?... TVD Predictions

First and foremost, I just want to remind you all that we still have 26 days to go before the new episode of The Vampire Diaries shows up. If it wasn't for my job, I'll probably die of boredom, waiting for January 21st. I rarely post here because of my job, so I just want to thank my dear friend, DJ Scorpia for keeping the site alive... So let's get it on.

While DJ Scorpia's busy looking and scooping for some latest TVD news, I, for a change, would love to express something that's been bothering me for quite sometime now. We all have our very own TVD predictions, right? Like "What will happen during the next chapter?" or "Is Elena going to die?" Something like that. I'm just going to talk some of mine [predictions] here. WARNING: These are all products of my imagination. I don't think that they'll ever happen but I'm hoping. Haha!

Here goes...

PREDICTION #1: I still think Elena hit a new character. I don't think it's Damon 'cause the last time I saw, Damon wasn't wearing something hooded. He was wearing a leather jacket. What do I think? > Damon arrives after a few seconds and rescues Elena from that creepy new character. However, the new guy manages to escape. Damon, too damn lazy to care, lets the guy run.

PREDICTION #2: Elena tells Damon about Katherine's picture and asks Damon why she looks like her. Damon remembers Bree [?] and takes Elena to her to get some answers. And why would he care? Because he's curious to know about it too. BTW, Bree's another new character. I'm not sure yet if she's really a witch or she just thinks she is one. LOL

PREDICTION #3: Elena does fall for Damon, in this episode. But I'm not expecting that it's voluntary. Duh? It's too soon. And please don't forget about the necklace that she took off.

PREDICTION #4: Damon approaches Bonnie again. This time, he wants her to help him free Katherine. Remember the new trailer? Bonnie gets trapped under a tomb-like place.

PREDICTION #5: I do think Elena and Katherine are related. Not directly though. I'm thinking Katherine had a sister and maybe she's Elena's great-great-great-great grandmother. Again, look at the new trailer. Exactly the part where they show Katherine. There's a woman at her back. She seems sad or something. But she's pretty. Almost looks like Katherine.

PREDICTION #6: This goes out to all Damon/Elena fans. I know you are eager to see them hook up. Now this is what I think. Katherine gets free from the tomb and creates havoc on Mystic Falls. Stefan stays on the town's side while Damon sides on Katherine. However, when Katherine tries to kill Stefan, Damon chooses his brother over her and kills her instead. Elena's sees this and thinks twice about what Damon has done. She loves Stefan but at the same time, she's grateful about Damon for saving her love's life. She now sees Damon's good side. Now wouldn't that be an interesting love triangle? Confused much, Elena? Stefan, on the other hand, realizes Elena's feelings for Damon. He can't do anything about it because he owes him his life (again).

That's it for now. I'm hoping I can make a part II of this. But right now, my eyes are not cooperating. They're shutting down. LOL Night, guys!

People are finally realizing what Kevin Williamson said at Comic Con, that when you really start to delve into the books and TV series, it's very different from Twilight. As the show’s jetting it’s way over the Atlantic to us next year, FemaleFirst talked to Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley, who star as Elena and Stefan, the shows lovers, it’s Edward and Bella if you will, about the show and them as actors.

FemaleFirst: Congratulations on the show being brought over here, why do you think it’s been such a hit in America?

Paul: We I think if people just tuned in because of the whole vampire trend, and people stuck with it and it grew with word of mouth because the writers and everyone else just kind of magically fitted together, it was great.

Nina: Everyone is really great at what they do individually so together we really put our all into making this great show and we’re all very proud of it I think.

P: most importantly it’s gotten better and better and people are recognising that, and it’s my opinion that the show has got progressively better.

FF: Why do think vampires are so popular right now?

P: We get asked that all time and I always say it’s because of the beautiful, amazing dichotomy in the vampire paradox.

That protective, nurturing, endless love that they have and the passion for, like with my character for Elena, but is also infused with this desire to suck on her neck and feed on her and kill her because it’s in my nature so I think people are fascinated by that.

N: Vampires are timeless, just like the genre they’ve been always been around. Right now this craze is booming but before Twilight and Tue Blood there was Interview with A Vampire and Dracula and all these other movies. So they’ve always been around and they have this mysterious appeal.

P: They’ve become modernised in a very attractive, sexual way and I think people also respond to that.

FF: The show is of course based off the books by L. J. Smith, so have either of you read them?

P: Yeah, we’ve read them even though the books are a foundation for the show and the show’s taken creative licence to deviate for appropriate reasons and for good reasons in order to serialise it.

So we can’t marry ourselves too much to the books, but for me, I pay respect to the character that was originally conceived and try to show that on the screen but I let the writers take me the way they want to go.

N: I agree and although I think my character changes the most from the books to the series, for a few reasons. Purely aesthetically, I’m not blonde haired, blue eyed like Elena is described in the novel.

Here Comes Mia!!

I've been waiting all day to post this!! Thanks to tvdnews and tvdfansonline for their awesome TVD info and boy is this a big one!! One of my favorite actresses has been cast to guest star on the Vampire Diaries. Mia Kirshner will play the undead/dead wife, Isobel of Alaric Saltzman. Of course, these will be flashbacks. Although, you can never tell when it comes to this show.

She is a Canadian actress whose body of work are mostly of an independent nature which is what I personally prefer. Her more popular well known parts are: Jenny from "the L word" and Mandy from "24". She will star in the upcoming movie 30 Days of Night: Dark Days. I put together a short video of Mia in action. Her resume is quite extensive, so it was impossible to include them all.

In October 2008, Kirshner published the book I Live Here, which she co-produced with ex-Adbusters staffers Paul Shoebridge and Michael Simons, as well as writer James MacKinnon. According to Variety, the numbers are in for episodes, "Haunted" and "162 Candles". The first hour averaged 1.8 million and the second hour averaged 1.9 million. Thanks to fans for increasing the numbers!! Tonight, lets try and get it to 2.5 million..spread the word!

Vampire Diaries Better Than Twilight?

People are going back and forth on this question. I don't know if its more so fan loyalty then rationale thinking that lumps these into the same category. That debate only continues as NY Post has put out an article to give their distinctions between the two.

1. Vampire Diaries were first!

2. The Vampire Diaries has blood and gore..hello fangs!

3.Woohoo...they have sex and more sex!

4. Elena isn't easily convinced that Stefan is not going to harm her, she has a lot of questions that need to be answered whereas Bella is quickly accepting of her sparkly love.

5. What can we say..we're a sucker for the underdog! All the Twilight hoopla has given me a headache. I'm a fan of the Stephenie Meyer Saga, but enjoy the Anne Rice throwback better.

I think TV Guide is with us all wondering that very same thing. After watching the promo 5o million times, I still think that she's not rubbing elbows with Damon by her own free will. We'll have to patiently wait another month to watch everything unfold.

I'm such a big fan of music and Vampire Diaries has some of the best music around thanks to Chris Mollere. I thought it would be pretty cool to feature a video from the "Vampire Diaries Soundtrack" everyday. Today's feature is Mads Langer, an amazing artist that is damn good live. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did. This song was featured in episode 5, "You're Undead to Me" when Elena realized Stefan was a vampire.

Vampire Diaries Newest Eye Candy, Sean Faris Covers Men's Health Magazine!

As you all know, Sean Faris will be guest starring on TVD. I thought it was only fitting to post him on IHVD, since there should be plenty of talk once he makes his first appearance. A little character background: Ben, will befriend the Mystic Falls High gang when Matt (Zach Roerig) starts working at the Grill, where Ben is a bartender. He's also an ex-high school football star. Hmm..could be interesting.

Hot Topic Cast Tour Coming Soon!

This info came out last week, but I totally forgot to post it. Thanks to @CW_VampDiaries and @tvdfansonline for the heads up..awesome peeps btw so follow...

Hot Topic, The CW Network and Warner Bros. Television have joined forces for The Vampire Diaries Tour! The tour will be making stops in Atlanta, GA on 1/23, Paramus, NJ on 1/30 and Los Angeles, CA on 2/13. At each stop, fans will get to meet select cast members from the show and attend a Q&A session. All you have to do is buy the exclusive The Vampire Diaries Tour T-shirt from a participating Hot Topic location which will get you a wristband that grants you access to the event! More details are coming soon so keep checking back here, and remember to watch "The Vampire Diaries" on The CW on Thursday nights at 8/7c.

TVD Tuesday Ratings 1.4 Million

Well the numbers are in for our favorite show. According to Variety, both episodes 3 and 4 only drew in a total of 1.4 million viewers respectively. That's a decline from the previous night. I'm hoping the numbers will improve, but either way I'll still be watching.

I'm really late on this post, but hey it's never to late when it comes to the Vampire Diaries. It seems to me that Elena is definitely under the influence, there's no way in hell this would go down otherwise. I can only hope that this break won't last the whole season.

TVD Fashionista Katerina Graham Attends Premium Goods Event

Since TVD is on a dreadful hiatus until Jan, yes I'm being selfish, the cast have been out and about enjoying themselves. As you all know Paul, Ian, and Nina are over in London. I wanted to check on the other cast and see what they've been up to. Katerina Graham looked on point as always while attending the annual “Premium Goods” event. It gives exclusive access to check out the latest brand releases such as: G-Shock, Onitsuka Tiger, Nokia, Jean Paul Gaultier and Famous Stars and Straps. They were treated to free drinks from sponsors Ciroc and Heineken.

Paul, Nina, Ian Attend Important Fundraiser in London

Thanks to www.ninadobrevfan.net for the heads up about this wonderful event. It's a very important fundraiser in aid of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. I'm so happy that the Vampire Diaries cast came out to support, always nice to see celebs coming together for things like this. The event was held today at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London, England. Please support the foundation and make a contribution. The mission of the foundation is to support innovative HIV prevention programs, efforts to eliminate stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS, and direct care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS.

[MV] Stefan & Elena - Same Ground

Can somebody please remind me how many weeks left before the new episode of The Vampire Diaries comes out? No, scratch that. I don't want to be reminded. It only makes the days come so slooooow. Anyways, we all know what happened during TVD's mid-season ender, right? In case you're living under a rock these past few weeks, TVD left us with a major cliff-hanger. But before that, there was one unforgettable HOT scene and I'm sure fans would agree with me about that. Who were involved in it? Of course, no other than our sweet, beloved, tortured couple: Stefan and Elena. But after that beautiful scene, Elena found ranging b**** Katherine's photo and then ditched Stefan. TVD developers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec already shared some spoilers. According to them, episode 11 will have more Damon/Elena scenes. In short, Damon/Elena fans, it's your time to shine!!!

And since it'll be a little while before we see more Stefan/Elena scenes, I'd like to share this fan-made music video that I made myself. I already posted this on my other blog but since this is one of my personal faves, I'd like to share it with you, guys. So to all Stefan/Elena fans, enjoy it while you can.

As you all know Taylor Lautner aka Jacob Black will be on SNL tonight. MTV's Hollywood Crush has decided to put up a list of best mentions for the sparkly vampire saga...of course our Damon Salvatore made the list with one of his best scenes from episode four "Family Ties"

This Is the Way to Kick It Off!!

Hey what's up TVD fans! I've been inspired by @tvdfansonline and @tvdnews on Twitter. They have really dedicated themselves to show their appreciation for a great show. I'm a huge fan, but never felt I could contribute much. I think it was inevitable for me to create a blog since I have like 6 more for various things i.e. music, politics etc.
